83m Yacht camdesign Camillo De Gaspari

83m Explorer Yacht with Flat Panel Antennas // Camdesign

Italian yacht designer, Camillo De Gaspari of camdesign, created an 83m yacht design with flat antennas.

On the first look, this design looks like a typical 83m yacht. On the second look, you will miss the satdomes. Camillo De Gaspari, the owner of the Italian design studio camdesign, replaced the domes with Kymeta flat panel antennas for the communication systems. The compact antennas save some space to place solar panels and wind turbines. The hull is made of steel, while the superstructure is an aluminum construction.

The yacht accommodates up to 18 passengers and 18 crew members. The bow welcomes a helicopter on a touch-and-go helipad. Furthermore, the tender garage storage houses a three pax submarine, four jet-skis, four Vespa scooters, and last but not least two rescue boats (RIB).

It is powered with full-hybrid propulsion by Wärtsilä with four generators (5750 bhp in total) and 2,800 kW lithium-ion batteries.

Ribelle Yacht Vitters

RIBELLE // VITTERS // Malcolm McKeon // Rémi Tessier

RIBELLE is a 33m sailing yacht by Vitters, designed by Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design (exterior) and Rémi Tessier (interior).

RIBELLE is one of my favorite sailing yachts – a masterpiece inside and outside. The boat features a very modern, radical yet elegant exterior design with reverse bow and the stern with rounded teak deck elements that are also on other Malcolm McKeon designs like LIARA and MISSY. Furthermore, an eye-catching deck house with tinted windows that gives character to the clean deck design. Green Marine built the carbon-fiber hull of the 33m yacht in the UK, Vitters launched the completed boat in 2017. The owners wanted a comfortable cruising yacht but also a fast sailing yacht to compete in international superyacht regattas. Alongside the carbon hull, Harken delivered carbon-fiber winches – furthermore, there are lightweight materials like rails made of titanium.

Thanks to the self-tacking jib, RIBELLE can be sailed with a small crew in cruising mode. The crew can change the cruising sails with high-tech sails to transform into the racing mode.

The power management features a hybrid system with two lightweight generators and a massive lithium battery pack. The 90-tonnes yacht has a cruising speed of 10 knots and a maximum speed of 12 knots (under the engine).

The yacht is for sale with a price on request.

Warm and modern interior with Wintergarden

Award-winning designer Rémi Tessier created a modern interior design with warm colors. The glazed deck house establishes a kind of winter garden to enjoy dining under the sky, even in colder evenings and nights. The style is characterized by white leather and bleached teak wood.

RIBELLE welcomes six guests in three cabins. The owner’s cabin has a walkaround bed.

F16 Center Console Boat SFG Yacht Design

Exclusive Center Console Boat Design // SFG Yacht Design

Franco Gianni of SFG Yacht Design unveiled a new fresh exclusive design of the center console boat called F18 with a length of 18 meters and inboard engines and the smaller F16 with outboard motors.

Italian yacht designer Franco Gianni with offices in Miami and Italy, uses the Corona lockdown phase in his Italian home studio to create some artworks. Here are the F18 and F16 – two stylish center console boats to cruise in comfort but also with high speeds and, of course, with style.

“The teak deck on this boat is a work of art in itself, using a combination of colors to match the boat and a fishbone layout to really make it pop. I had to be careful to not over design her. I figured that a couple key pieces should standout and be defining, the aft deck table and the dashboard, to say the least. These two pieces are carefully thought out to not only look great but also be functional at the same time. The dashboard is a custom, single piece of dual curved glass with a giant custom, multipurpose navigation screen hidden underneath”

F18 - 18m Version with inboard engines

The F18 has two MAN 1900 12-cylinder engines with 1,900 hp each, connected to surface drives. The engine type meets the TIER III regulations.

More hull weight instead of "paperweight"

“Instead of building an all carbon fiber, epoxy infused, super light boat as many custom yards would prefer, I’m going with a heavier hull with carbon and Kevlar reinforcements and then doing the deck and all components in carbon to keep the center of gravity low for better sea keeping capabilities, I want this boat to be a true offshore machine not an 18 meter paperweight.”

F16 - 16 meters with ouboard engines

The smaller sister is powered by four 627 hp outboard engines by Seven Marine. Instead of sunbeds and bathing platform, the boat has a daybed aft with view on a big screen to watch movies.

Dynamiq GTM 90 Klassen Edition

Dynamiq Yachts teams up with car tuner Klassen and presents the Dynamiq GTM 90.

The Monaco-based yacht brand Dynamiq Yachts is known for its unique yacht designs and collaboration with luxury brands like Meissen, Porsche, Bentley et cetera. Now comes a partnership with Klassen – a company that lifts luxury cars to the next level.

The exterior has been created inhouse by Sergei Dobroserdov. Furthermore, there are the proven partners Van Oossanen Naval Architects who supports with the calculation of the hull lines and Giuseppina Arena, who styled the interior design of the previous project Dynamiq Global 330.

The expected top speed of the Dynamiq GTM 90 is 31 knots with triple configuration of Volvo Penta D13 IPS-1350 propulsion. The aluminum yacht has a range of 800 nautical miles at a speed of 17 knots. At a speed of 15 knots, the range extends to 900 nm. The bathing platform aft can host a Williams Jet Tender 505 that can be added in the configurator for €71,000. Moreover, a 5,5m x 5,5m inflatable FunAir pool can be stored to transform the stern into a beach club with a seawater area, protected by a net from the open water.

The price for the yacht starts at €7.500,000 and has a build time of 18 months.

The Dynamiq GTM 90 has a full-beam owners’ cabin that features a round bed on the lower deck. Moreover, three guest cabins and twos crew cabin for four people with separate ladderway and direct access to the engine room.

“The rich and sophisticated interior features a forward salon and a bar/galley area overlooking the aft beach club, which can remain open on sunny days or be closed when the evenings turn chilly to create almost a winter garden effect. Fold-down bulwarks and sliding glass doors help increase natural ventilation. Head heights are a generous 2.20m throughout the main deck (Dynamiq provides another option of the main deck layout where salon and dining area are united to form a larger space for groups of up to 16 people). A Bowers & Wilkins audio system delivers an incredible high-end sound experience throughout the yacht.”

Life Saga Yacht Admiral Yachts

LIFE SAGA // Admiral Yachts

The exterior design of the 65m yacht LIFE SAGA comes from Gian Marco Campanino aka GMC Design; the interior design is a work by Mark Berryman.

Admiral Yachts constructed the vessel with a steel hull and an aluminum superstructure. An impressive eye-catcher of the exterior design is the architectural element like on modern villas in the middle, as seen on the Admiral C-Force OURANOS, where Gian Marco Campanino was also involved as the interior designer. On LIFE SAGA, he delivered the exterior design and the internal layout.

With her two Caterpillar engines, the 65m yacht reaches a maximum speed of 16 knots and a cruising speed of 14.5 knots.

Mark Berryman created an interior with warm materials. The owners’ area comes with vertical windows. Moreover, the rest of interior benefits also from floor-to-ceiling windows to receive a lot of natural lights and panoramic views. The sun deck with sunbeds and two pools has a large shaded area with lounge and bar that reflects the style of the interior.

The lower deck houses the beachclub with gym, pool and sunbeds with access to the water via the bathing platform aft or the fold-out terraces. More fold-out balconies are part of the main deck.

Tempo Yacht DLBA Naval Architects

TEMPO - Yacht Concept with Artificial Intelligence Systems // DLBA Naval Architects

DLBA Naval Architects created a yacht concept called TEMPO with an artificial intelligence system.

The 58m design TEMPO is the showcase project for an autonomous yacht with all the artificial intelligence systems to monitor the health of the systems, that are in use on commercial and military ships.

“The name of the concept is tied to the uptick in operational tempo that the AI will make possible through enhanced reliability and operational availability, meaning that owners and guest will be able to spend more quality time onboard enjoying all that yachting can offer.”

Navigation Autonomy

The autonomy of the navigation helps captain and crew to operate the yacht. It is in service in the commercial and military sector successful for years. The system use radar, AIS, electronic charts, video cameras and weather information systems to receive information.

“The operator is left to maintain a presence while the autonomous navigation system guides the vessel. The reduced level of focus required in this area results in higher situational awareness. The benefits to this include a reduced risk of collision and grounding, avoidance of heavy weather, optimization of fuel consumption and lower operator workload.”

Equipment & Health Monitoring

Equipment Health Monitoring

With those systems, a yacht or ship turns into a floating datacenter with complex systems with a lot of data streams that need to be monitored.

“Capturing and monitoring the data in real-time provides advanced diagnostics and prognostics of onboard systems and equipment through the use of sensors and data collection. Trending and
machine-learning can then be used to provide real-time feedback on board the vessel for almost all systems, which can then be used to identify almost all potential faults in advance – allowing for correction before they occur and maximizing the owner’s use and enjoyment of the vessel.”

Equipment & Health monitoring for Ships and Yachts

Cyber Security

Autonomous and unmanned, respectively, remote-controlled vessels need encrypted communication channels to protect against cybercriminals.

“Convergence of information and operational technology, including ICS components, on autonomous vessels highlight the importance of data integrity and system availability. A comprehensive and a holistic cybersecurity
approach addresses these concerns.”

Sailing Yacht Tango Wally Yachts

Tango // Wally

Black Beauty with a big dance floor aft: The 100 feet sailing yacht TANGO by Wally - the fourth unit of the WallyCento fleet

Naval Architect Mark Mills of Mills Design was appointed for the first time for a Wally project and comments:

“Tango is our largest project to date and also we believe the most innovative, the most stylish, and certainly one of the most satisfying to develop in collaboration with the client, Wally, Pininfarina, and Persico Marine. We owe our involvement to the vision of Luca Bassani who suggested us to bring a fresh mindset to the Wallycento design question.

We developed a radical proposal combining dramatic deck geometry with a novel interior layout for the most efficient result within the Wallycento box-rule, integrated with the structure to a level not yet seen in a yacht of this size. That proposal very quickly became Tango, after huge amounts of detail development, but very little deviation from the original vision for a sleek, light, and exciting sailing machine.”

Luca Bassani, Founder and President of Wally adds:

“A relevant  Tango’s technical attribute is to have the immersed volume of the hull more forward than the previous Wallycentos, and the aft lines are cleaner and more stretched: an hydrodynamic option that I much appreciate. Mark’s initial idea to have a displacement close to the minimum required by the box-rule, combined with the maximum sail plan allowed, would bring some advantages in the typical lights airs of the Mediterranean conditions.”

Sailing Yacht Tango is listed for sale with an asking price of €12,000,000.

Wally is known for new ways, so Tango got the main salon at the aft area. Engine room and service area are placed amidships, guests can find their places forward. The interior was designed by Pininfarina.

Tangos’ cruising comforts equal those of the previous Wallycentos whilst her different interior layout further concentrates the weights over the boat center of gravity.”

Paolo Pininfarina says:

“The interior design of this Wallycento challenged our team to achieve the perfect balance of performance and comfort. Thanks to the selection of the materials and the innovative solutions of the interior decoration delivering both function and aesthetics,  we generated a true thoroughbred of the sea, ultra-light, and super performing, perfectly suitable for cruising as well as for racing. We are very proud of this accomplishment further confirming the excellence of our nautical division.”

Interior Sailing Yacht TANGO

“Tango turned out exactly how we envisaged her when we started developing the project: super sleek lines and aggressive overall appeal conveying her high-performance DNA.” proudly says Luca Bassani “Additionally, our form-reflects-function approach is epitomised in Tango’s sheer flush deck in the like of  the iconic Esense: besides enhancing the purity of the design,  it would facilitate the manoeuvres while racing.  We look forward to the sea-trials and test the predicted superior performance of our new superyacht.”

Documentary: OCTOPUSSY - The Yacht that couldn't be built

Video premiere on April 11, 2020, at 6:00 PM (CET) - a documentary about Heesen Yachts' OCTOPUSSY - remarkable yacht from the '80s.

The yacht was the world’s fastest yacht with a top speed of 53.17 knots in 1988!

If you combine a fast luxury yacht with a James Bond film title, you are right. Built for the well-known Mr. John Staluppi who brought us the most interesting motor yachts.

She is powered by three MTU diesel engines with KaMeWa water jet propulsion. Each engine has a power of 3.432 hp, so Octopussy has a total power of 10.296 hp. Well, this yacht is still impressive but of course not environmental friendly. Octopussy has a fuel consumption of 32 liters per minute!

The German newspaper FAZ talked in 2007 to her current owner and wrote an excellent article about her.

NEW ERA Hydrogen Fuel Cell Yacht Lorenzo Lippi

NEW ERA // Fuel Cell Yacht // Lorenzo Lippi

Italian yacht designer Lorenzo Lippi created a 50m motor yacht concept that runs on hydrogen fuel cells.

NEW ERA is the master thesis project by Lorenzo Lippi, who graduated in Naval and Nautical Design at the University of Genoa. He collected experience at the Italian shipyard Tankoa Yachts as a project manager with project ELETTRA.

The project is inspired by the 112m fuel cell yacht AQUA by Sinot, the 62m hydrogen vessel by H2, the Race for Water project, the 65m Watchecho by VSY, and last but not least, the hydrogen racing car H2 Speed by Pininfarina.

Alongside the protection of the environment that becomes more and more important with zero-emission technology, electric propulsion increases the comfort and luxury onboard with the smell of diesel, sound, and vibrations.

A Yacht that produces Hydrogen

The yacht concept features Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carriers (LOHC) to store the hydrogen. Usually, hydrogen is explosive, must be stored under high-pressure and is highly flammable. LOHC improves these problems and makes it easy to handle.

Electrolyzer and watermaker (to filter out the salt of the seawater), and the onboard electricity are powered by a 240 sqm (96 kW) area of solar panels (there is also a bimini with fabric by Solar Cloth System). The electrolyzer produces 650 liters of hydrogen per hour, 300 liters of water per hour comes from watermaker, and the LOHC box generates 240 liters per hour.

The layout of the traditional with a full-beam owner’s suite on the main deck forward and features a private balcony, bathroom, desk and walk-in closet. The rear part of the main deck houses a formal dining table for up to twelve people, main salon, and beach club.

The lower deck accommodates two VIP and two guest cabins, alongside the crew area—furthermore, the technical rooms for the fuel cells, engines, and LOHC tank storage.

Skylounge, wheelhouse, captain’s cabin and al-fresco dining can be found on the upper deck.
