The Ocean Sail 82 follows the sustainable philosophy of Alva Yachts. The 25m sailing yacht is a full-electric boat with solar panels.

HENNDESIGN penned the yacht as a performance cruiser with a racing hull. The exterior design comes with a clean design and an eye-catching bow with fixed-bow sprit to connect a large gennaker. To follow the sustainable philosophy of Alva Yachts on the Ocean Eco 90, also, the Ocean Sail 82 features electric drive and a large battery bank (140 kWh/10kWh). Solar panels on the bimini and the deckhouse have a maximum capacity of 5 kW. Furthermore, the Ocean Sail 82 regenerates the battery bank under sails with a hydro generator.

The stern area houses a jet tender, while the aft area of the interior accommodates a full-beam crew area for two people with galley and separate companionway from the double helm station. There are two layouts available. Layout 1 provides six guests, plus owners. Plan 2 replaces a bunk bed cabin with space for an office.

Royal Huisman unveiled Project 405 aka Nauta Reichel Pugh 151

Project 405 is a 46m lightweight sloop-rigged sailing yacht made of aluminum and carbon composite. Nauta Design delivered the exterior and the interior design while the speed specialists Reichel/Pugh made the calculations. Even the owner’s professional racing team was involved. The carbon-fiber rig by Royal Huisman’s subsidiary Rondal has a Panamax height to cross the Panama Canal. The owner’s brief calls for a comfortable yacht with the potential to win superyacht regattas.

Which is why from the moment of the project’s inception, the owners drew together the team that could realize this experience for them”

The yacht accommodates ten guests including the owners and a crew of eight people.

The Italian shipyard launched the new RIVA 88 Folgore - designed by Officina Italiana Design with engineering by the Ferretti Group.

The RIVA 88 Folgore comes with a very modern, elegant, and sporty design with a low profile.

The interior of the RIVA 88′ features materials like wood, steel, glass, and marble. Moreover, RIVA offers the owner the choice between three layouts for the owner’s cabin. A VIP cabin and two double cabins are on the lower deck with en-suite bathrooms.

Italian yacht builder Cantiere Savona unveiled the Luxi 35 - a day boat with a top speed of 40 knots.

The 35-feet day boat has a small cabin forward for up to two persons, equipped with a lavatory, shower, and a galley. The standard engine configuration comes with Mercruiser inboard engines (740 hp). Moreover, as a custom project, the LUXI 35 is available with a total power of 1,200 hp. Hybrid propulsion is possible on request. The shipyard’s in-house design team made a clean and modern design.

Modern times need advanced materials, so Cantiere Savona uses eco-friendly glass fiber (GRP) to meet the boat’s name – luxi means light in the Sardinian language.

The outside area offers a freshwater shower, counter with sink, fridge, and refrigerator. The entry price of the boat is 400,000 EUR.

Alva Yachts is a new brand with a focus on eco-friendly yachts. Alongside this catamaran yacht, the brand also offers the monohull sailing yacht OCEAN SAIL 82, a 60-feet catamaran and floating homes. The design comes from HENNDESIGN.

The 27m full-electric yacht features a 200 sqm surface of solar panels with 40 kWp to support the battery pack. Furthermore, a hydrogen fuel cell is available. In its full-electric version, the Ocean Eco 90 has 2 x 500 kW electric motors. Another version is the hybrid yacht with 2 x 250 kW electric engines and 2 x 456 kW.

The Bering 106 is a 32m yacht that belongs to the more modern designs of the shipyard that is known for explorer-styled boats.

The Bering 106 appears as a white yacht, but the 32m yacht has an enormous operating range of 4,000 nautical miles at 9 knots with a fuel capacity of 30,000 liters. The maximum speed is 13 knots, powered by twin Cummins QSM–11 with 455 hp each. The shipyard constructs the vessel with a displacement steel hull and an aluminum superstructure.

The flybridge comes with a second helm station, a wet bar, seatings, and sunbeds.

Interior Design

The master suite of the Bering 106 is on the bridge deck with a private terrace where is also the tender storage. The lower deck accommodates two VIP cabins and two twin guest cabins. Furthermore, there is a children’s playroom in the bow. The crew area with a mess and two cabins is in the stern area.

The forward main deck is the home of a big island kitchen with access to the bow area with Jacuzzi.

Vripack unveiled fossil-free project FUTURA with regenerative blue diesel biofuel made of food waste from Finland.

Futura is a 66m hybrid yacht, powered with biofuel made of food waste. Even the battery packs are made of bio-based batteries made of plants, sand, and salt. Furthermore, the 100 % biodegradable battery bank is rechargeable by a kite that is connected to an electric winch to be released by a push on a button.

“That’s the beauty of naval architecture,” says co-creative director Marnix Hoekstra. “First and foremost, you should mimic nature in the sense that you use as little energy as possible when crossing through the waves. We were driven by that goal from the outset.”

Bart Bouwhuis – co-creative director at Vripack, says:

What Futura offers owners is choice by approaching sustainability as a design challenge, we’re not waiting for owners to request this technology, we’re presenting them with a concept based on sustainable solutions that currently exist. The answers are out there; the supply is out there, owners just need to want it.

Vripack designed the interior as a “split and merge” concept with mezzanine to have a loft-styled interior concept.

The hybrid propulsion of the steel/aluminum/glass yacht contains four Caterpillar C32 Acert diesel engines. FUTURA features the classifications of +100A1, SSC, YACHT(P) MONO, G6, (Malta Cross) LMC, UMS, SCM, and Green Passport.

CASTOR has been launched at the Heesen Yachts facilities in Oss.

CASTOR belongs to Heesen Yachts’ 55m Steel Class with the Fast Displacement Hull Form by Van Oossanen Naval Architects. Although the shipyard follows the Dutch guidelines of physical distancing, Heesen Yachts launched the yacht on schedule.

CASTOR accommodates up to twelve guests in six cabins. There is a VIP suite on the bridge deck, the rest of the layout is traditional with the master suite on the main deck forward, two double cabins and two twin cabins have been placed on the lower deck.

The cruising speed of the yacht is 13 knots with a range of 4,500 nautical miles, while the maximum speed is 15.5 knots.

The RIVALE 78 features classic lines like a long overhang aft that serves as access to the water with a fold-out ladder; even so, the yacht also has modern elements like a deckhouse made of carbon-fiber with skylights or a very eye-catching steering wheel without spokes. Furthermore, even mast and boom are of carbon-fiber. The whole design appears very clean with a flush deck.


ARKSEN 85 Explorer Yacht

Arksen 85 - Explorer Yacht with optional fractional ownership

The Arksen 85 is one of four yacht sizes with a focus on sustainable yachting to support a foundation and opportunity of fractional ownership.

The 26m explorer yacht has been designed by the naval architects of Humphreys Yacht Design, while the interior of the Arksen 85 comes from Design Unlimited.

To reduce the environmental impact of these motor yachts, the vessel has an efficient design. Even the building process has a focus on reducing the carbon footprint. The chosen materials can be recycled when the boat’s life comes to an end. The hybrid propulsion offers a range of 7,000 nautical miles at 8 knots and 4,000 nm at 10 knots. The top speed is 14 knots.

“Every Arksen vessel is fitted with a modular and flexible monitoring system to analyse the water quality continuously. These include a flow-through system, often seen on ferries, to automatically feedback data to institutions around the world to live track crucial water parameters.”

Interior

The standard layout has the master cabin on the lower deck, together with guest cabins. Furthermore, galley and saloon on the main deck. Layout can be changed with galley on the lower deck and master cabin on the main deck forward. The enclosed flybridge offers additional seatings and helm station.

Fractional Ownership

The fractional ownership, branded as Adventure Syndicate, offers to own a part of the yacht without the whole costs of the vessel. Owners can use the yacht 25 weeks per year and 13 weeks of commercial charter. They can also sell the ownership at any time.

“Alice is from the UK and has chosen to join a European syndicate that is buying an Arksen 70. She has decided to buy two weeks of adventure on-board per year for her friends and family. For these two weeks of usage Alice will pay £485,000, spread over 18 months (which she may choose to finance), and will have 8% ownership of the vessel. For every year of membership to the syndicate, Alice will expect to pay approximately £32,600 to cover her share of the upkeep of the boat. The commercial charter of the vessel should keep this number down. These costs represent significantly less than half of the cost of chartering a vessel for the same period.

Alice expects to enjoy the benefits of flexible ownership for 10 years. At the end of this period, Alice will receive a share of the proceeds of the sale of the boat equal to her percentage of ownership. If she owns 8% and based on 54% depreciation over the period, she would expect to receive a little over £220,000. At this point, the net cost to Alice over 10 years will have been approximately £326,000 or £2,720 per month.”

Australian shipyard Echo Yachts unveiled the 50m Project Echo – HSV Humanitarian Support Vessel with a catamaran hull, designed by Bannenberg & Rowell.

The 50m catamaran-hulled support vessel features naval architecture by Incat Crowther and has been made to compete with heavy seas. The layout of the support vessel is flexible to use for the owner’s own adventures or to support disaster reliefs in remote areas.

The open aft deck has a knuckle-boom crane with a capacity of 12 tonnes to move 10 feet container with medical goods and drinking water onto a 12m catamaran tender, designed by All-seas Design and the boatbuilder Vikal. To operate away from the coast, a helicopter can land on the aft deck. Furthermore, people can be evacuated to the vessel’s medial rooms.

Italian design studio Nuvolari Lenard created a luxurious water taxi for the channels of Venice, built by Cantieri Vizianello.

Carlo Nuvolari and Dan Lenard are known for their exciting designs of superyachts and yacht tenders. Now they created the water taxi THUNDER with a luxurious signature like the limousine tenders of megayachts but with the style of the classic Venetian water taxis. Moreover, the water taxi comes with hybrid propulsion to drive free of emissions in electric-only mode through the channels of Venice. The water taxis also drive in open waters to the airport where they can reach higher speeds with diesel engines so that the boat can recharge the batteries.

Heesen Yachts Altea

Project ALTEA // HEESEN YACHTS

Heesen Yachts builds the new 50m project ALTEA on the proven platform 5000 Aluminum with Fast Displacement Hull Form.

Project ALTEA based on the proven platform NOVA PLUS – a faster vessel with a traditional MTU engine configuration than NOVA with hybrid propulsion. It is a sister ship to ERICA. The exterior design comes from long-term partners Omega Architects, while Cristiano Gatto drew the interior design. As many yachts by Heesen, also ALTEA has the patented Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) by Van Oossanen Naval Architects.

Her twin MTU 12V 2000 M72 engines have a total power of 2.160 hp to reach a maximum speed of 19.5 knots. At the cruising speed of 12 knots, ALTEA has a transatlantic range of 3,750 nautical miles.

The yacht is an on-spec project and for sale. Delivery is scheduled for spring 2021. Potential clients can visit Heesen Interiors in Winterswijk, The Netherlands, to inspect the interior mock-up of the project.

The interior is warm but bright as well. Cristiano Gatto uses veneers of stained Canaletto and American walnut for the walls and flooring. Moreover, custom made carpets by Luxury Pride.
ALTEA welcomes up to twelve guests and has an interior space of 350 square meters.

Finnish luxury yacht builder Baltic Yachts builds 45m yacht Baltic 146 with exterior and interior design by judel/vrolijk & Co from Germany.

The Baltic 146 has been developed as a bluewater cruiser but with twin rudders and a carbon-fiber hull to offer performance. A lifting keel reduces the draft from 5.90m to 3.40m. Captive winches keep a clean deck support a small crew to sail the 45m yacht. A bimini is over the cockpit and the double helm station as well. The 550 hp Scania engine is connected to a pod drive that rotates 360-degree and also serves as a stern thruster. Furthermore, the engine features SCR (Selective Catalytic Conversion).

The owners’ and three guest’s cabins are in the forward area of the vessel, while the crew of seven people is in the aft area.

Delivery is scheduled for the summer of 2021.

Tripp 90 YYachts 27m Sailing Yacht

The 27m Tripp 90 will be launched in November 2020 with an Andrew Winch interior design at YYachts shipyard in northern Germany.

The young shipyard under the ownership of Michael Schmidt (founder of Hanse Yachts), launched several yachts like the Y7 BELLA (also designed by Bill Tripp) and the Brenta 80 DC COOL BREEZE for example. Moreover, the research sailing vessel EUGEN SEIBOLD.

The Tripp 90 that belongs to the custom work division of the German shipyard features a Winch interior and will be the largest yacht to date by YYachts. The American owner wants to sail regattas and to cruise worldwide with the carbon-fiber boat that weighs under 50 tons with 20-ton ballast. It is the third time of collaboration between Tripp and the London-based studio Andrew Winch after the sailing yachts SHAMAN and ALITHIA.

There are no interior renderings yet, but the shipyard describes the style as follows:

“The spacious interior is minimalistic with an open layout and plenty of natural light. Stylistic inspirations from the east coast of the USA and Scandinavian influences from the middle of the last century in combination with the use of soft leather and light oak wood give the ambiance a restrained elegance.”

The deck salon of the Tripp 90 has been created to look around the sea with an abundance of natural light.

Lynx Yachts unveils new renderings of the Adventure 32 with exterior design by Bernd Weel Design and naval architecture by Diana Yacht Design.

The exterior design of the Adventure 32 is different from the previously presented Adventure 29. Alongside the large open outside area, the yacht has a big 40 square meter swimming platform that is also the storage for tender and toys. The 32m yacht has a robust explorer yacht design with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure and is powered 2 x Caterpillar C18 – 2 x 1000 hp at 2300 rpm. The fuel consumption of the engine configuration is 400 liters/h at the maximum speed of 15 knots, 220 liters/h (Cruising – 13.5 knots), and 130 liters/h with the economical speed of 11 knots.

The Adventure 32 has a five-cabin layout and a four-cabin layout. With five cabins, the vessel welcomes ten guests. There are the owner’s cabin on the main deck forward and four guest cabins on the lower deck. The four-cabin layout has two guest cabins and a full-beam VIP suite. The crew area accommodates up to six people.

The design of the Canados 696 features the typical characteristics of Italian yacht design like sporty and elegant exterior lines in the 30m class.

The yacht’s hull is made of GRP; the superstructure contains Kevlar/Aramat. The Canados 696 has standard propulsion of two V12 MAN engines with a power of 1,900 hp each with V-Drives. Moreover, there are also Caterpillar C32 Acert with 1,925 hp or two MTU 12V 2000 M96L (1,920 hp) for a cruising speed between 23 and 26 knots. Some extra power can be delivered with a twin configuration of MTU V16 2000 M96L with 2,600 hp each for a cruising speed of 25 knots and a maximum speed of 29 knots.

This is a custom heading element.

The buying process of the yacht includes a session with designer Marco Casali to create the interior design. The Canados 696 is available with three and four cabins layout on the lower deck. The three-cabin version has a full-beam VIP suite. The owners’ cabin is on the main deck and is equipped with a lateral sofa, and a vanity/desk—furthermore, direct access to the owners’ private area forward outside.

83m Explorer Yacht with Flat Panel Antennas // Camdesign

Italian yacht designer, Camillo De Gaspari of camdesign, created an 83m yacht design with flat antennas.

On the first look, this design looks like a typical 83m yacht. On the second look, you will miss the satdomes. Camillo De Gaspari, the owner of the Italian design studio camdesign, replaced the domes with Kymeta flat panel antennas for the communication systems. The compact antennas save some space to place solar panels and wind turbines. The hull is made of steel, while the superstructure is an aluminum construction.

The yacht accommodates up to 18 passengers and 18 crew members. The bow welcomes a helicopter on a touch-and-go helipad. Furthermore, the tender garage storage houses a three pax submarine, four jet-skis, four Vespa scooters, and last but not least two rescue boats (RIB).

It is powered with full-hybrid propulsion by Wärtsilä with four generators (5750 bhp in total) and 2,800 kW lithium-ion batteries.

Project PHI by Royal Huisman with matching Support Vessel

Royal Huisman sent out a secretive teaser of their upcoming project PHI - a 55m radical styled fast-displacement motor yacht.

Project PHI (the golden ratio) has an exterior design by Cor D. Rover and an interior design by Lawson Robb. The naval architecture comes from Van Oossanen and features the patented Fast Displacement XL platform and will reach speeds up to 22 knots.

The full-aluminum yacht will be equipped with gyro stabilizers and has a GT of under 500. Up to twelve guests can enjoy the yacht; a crew of eleven will serve guests and yacht.

Project PHI gets an 36m Support Vessel by Alia Yachts

Also, the 36m support vessel to transport more tenders and toys has been designed by Cor D. Rover and features naval architecture by Van Oossanen. The shadow vessel is currently under construction at Alia Yachts in Turkey. The yard announced on April 20th, 2020, the turning of the full-aluminum hull. The ship will be ready in 2021.

The shadow vessel has an cargo deck with a size of 157 sqm, a 45 sqm garage and 33 sqm workshop.

Equipped with two 2 x CAT C-32, the boat reaches a top speed of 21 knots. The cruising speed is 12 knots and features an operating range of 4,200 nm.

“We developed the naval architecture and engineering together with the captain, who provided a lot of input,says naval architect Perry van Oossanen. “Like the mothership, the vessel has a fast Displacement XL hull form, which combines the speed and efficiency advantages of the FDHF concept with the maximum length with in a given gross tonnage category for optimal seakeeping and comfort.”

Ribelle Yacht Vitters

RIBELLE is a 33m sailing yacht by Vitters, designed by Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design (exterior) and Rémi Tessier (interior).

RIBELLE is one of my favorite sailing yachts – a masterpiece inside and outside. The boat features a very modern, radical yet elegant exterior design with reverse bow and the stern with rounded teak deck elements that are also on other Malcolm McKeon designs like LIARA and MISSY. Furthermore, an eye-catching deck house with tinted windows that gives character to the clean deck design. Green Marine built the carbon-fiber hull of the 33m yacht in the UK, Vitters launched the completed boat in 2017. The owners wanted a comfortable cruising yacht but also a fast sailing yacht to compete in international superyacht regattas. Alongside the carbon hull, Harken delivered carbon-fiber winches – furthermore, there are lightweight materials like rails made of titanium.

Thanks to the self-tacking jib, RIBELLE can be sailed with a small crew in cruising mode. The crew can change the cruising sails with high-tech sails to transform into the racing mode.

The power management features a hybrid system with two lightweight generators and a massive lithium battery pack. The 90-tonnes yacht has a cruising speed of 10 knots and a maximum speed of 12 knots (under the engine).

The yacht is for sale with a price on request.

Warm and modern interior with Wintergarden

Award-winning designer Rémi Tessier created a modern interior design with warm colors. The glazed deck house establishes a kind of winter garden to enjoy dining under the sky, even in colder evenings and nights. The style is characterized by white leather and bleached teak wood.

RIBELLE welcomes six guests in three cabins. The owner’s cabin has a walkaround bed.
