Judel/Vrolijk designed the Baltic 80 Custom for an experienced client who ordered the first from the Finnish yacht builder.

The Baltic 80 Custom has been commissioned by a seasoned yachtsman collaborating with Baltic Yachts for the first time. This vessel is a versatile yacht that can perform exceptionally well in both offshore cruising and racing scenarios.

According to Henry Hawkins, the Executive Vice President of Baltic Yachts, the Baltic 80 Custom boasts a sleek and sporty appearance and can be considered a “new generation 80” that has recently garnered attention from clients. The design team has invested significant effort in creating a performance cruiser-racer that is sure to impress.

The renowned naval architects judel/vrolijk have designed the Baltic 80 Custom with a unique reverse angle stem and a maximum beam that extends all the way aft. The yacht features twin rudders, a lifting keel, and a conventional propulsion unit that drives a folding propeller. A spacious stern garage has also been incorporated to accommodate a jet-driven Williams 395 tender.

In cruising mode, the Baltic 80 will be a user-friendly yacht equipped with a self-tacking jib set on a wide track. The rig design and manufacture specifics are yet to be determined, although it will be fitted with in-boom furling. The yacht’s coachroof, designed to be sleek and low-level, incorporates a fold-down dodger and bimini to protect the cockpit.

The accommodation on the yacht is designed to comfortably accommodate six guests in three double cabins, with an additional cabin available for a crew of two. Baltic Yachts is responsible for the design and construction of the interior.

The Baltic 80 will be constructed using advanced composites, pre-preg SPRINT, and a foam core throughout. Construction is scheduled to commence in January 2023, with an anticipated launch date in the summer of 2024.
