Dynamiq GTT 115 Porsche Design

Dynamiq GTT 115 by Porsche Design

The Dynamiq GTT 115 is a limited edition of seven yachts.

Dynamiq appointed the Austrian design company Studio F.A. Porsche (a part of the Porsche Design Group) for works on the exterior and the interior styling. The naval architecture comes from Vripack.

GTT stands for Gran Turismo Transatlantic. The yacht has a range of 3,400 nautical miles @ 10 knots to cross the Atlantic ocean like M/Y Jetsetter – the first launch by Dynamiq.

“The launch is the culmination of a long process of design and development to introduce a new kind of superyacht to the market,” says Sergei Dobroserdov, CEO of Dynamiq. The modern gentlemen’s superyacht, the GTT 115 draws on the latest technology to combine comfortable high-speed cruising over 21 knots with efficient fuel consumption and long range of more than 3,400 nautical miles.

GTT 115 is undoubtedly the most advanced superyacht at the Monaco Yacht Show with her round-bilge hull form, podded propulsion, Hull Vane and exclusively developed stabilization system with 4 fins and interceptors.  Her bespoke hybrid system with 3 variable-speed generators are tributes to our strong belief in the sustainable future of yachting.  At just 35 meters overall, the yacht offers the versatile spaces and feeling of a much larger vessel.

On top of all this, GTT 115 is finished to the highest quality and looks super cool in her fashionable Rhodium Grey metallic paint. We decided to limit production to 7 units to make the GTT 115 a true collector’s item.”, continues Dobroserdov.

Roland Heiler, Managing Director of the Porsche Design Studio, who designed exterior and interior styling commented:

“Taking the spirit of high-performance sportscar styling to the high seas, the Dynamiq GTT 115 is designed to appeal to car lovers and forward-thinking yacht owners who appreciate the advantages of speed, style and our philosophy of intelligent performance.”

No Porsche engines but powerful twin MAN with 1.213 kW combined with Fortjes 5000 to reach a top speed of 21 knots. The draft of 1.45 meters is perfect for small marinas or shallow anchor bays.

For 95.000 EUR is a hybrid power system available with two 45kW Fischer Panda in the bow. This layout offers more silence and less smoke at the aft area.

Sergei Dobroserdov, CEO of Dynamiq explains:

“When we talk about comfort and top service, the ideal for this size of a yacht is six guests in three cabins served by a 1:1 ratio of six crew for genuinely exclusive onboard service. We also designed the interior ceiling heights to more than 2.15 meters (7 feet), even in the lower deck cabins: that’s real luxury on a 35-meter yacht.

Our target clients might include those who are looking to downsize from larger 50- or 60- meter yachts. They are already accustomed to the highest standards but are ready to leave behind the hassle and huge costs of owning large vessels so they can enjoy the fun side of yacht ownership. The Dynamiq GTT 115 is the perfect realization of utmost comfort and a sporty lifestyle in a practical and relatively compact package.”

Dynamiq Yachts is known for their price transparency with an online configurator. Perfect for people who are looking for the entry into the superyacht lifestyle with a new yacht. The GTT 115 has a base price of 11,900,000 EUR and takes 15 months of construction. The first model is currently for sale (asking price 13.950.000 EUR) and will be presented at the Monaco Yacht Show (berth H01).

Later this year, the yard will present the smaller models GTT 85 and GTT 100.

Hymhä Yacht Nauta Air 111

Hyhmä (Nauta Air 111) by Cantiere delle Marche

Cantiere Delle Marche launched motor yacht HYHMÄ - a Nauta Air 111 with Dutch Naval Architecture from Vripack.

The design of the 34m yacht was delivered by Mario Pedol and Massimo Gino of the Italian studio Nauta Yachts. Upon owner’s request, the yacht was designed to explore the Northwest Passage. Furthermore, the yacht will serve for documenting the marine wildlife. M/Y Hyhmä welcomes 12 guests in 5 five cabins and a crew of 7.

The Nauta Air 111 has a traditional general arrangement with an owners’ suite on the main deck and guest (two double, two twin bed cabins) and crew quarter on the lower deck. All cabins equipped with en-suite bathrooms.

“The dedication of the CdM team in building their growing fleet of explorers certainly got our attention in the recent years,” says Marnix Hoekstra, Vripack’s Director. “We are proud to be part of their professional group which share the vision that this world is meant to be discovered still and that yachts are the best tool for that job. We bring to the team our experience of 7000plus yachts as well as the five North West Passages our yachts made. We brought into the Nauta Air 111’s project our knowledge in safety and comfort. But most of all we look forward of becoming part of the CdM Family and friends group”.

Designer Mario Pedol comments:

“Hyhmä’s exterior expresses sober, elegant and seductive strength. This explorer yacht communicates its uncompromising seaworthiness through straightforward volumes combined with strong and decided lines in elements such as the shapes of the windows and portholes. Her hull and Top are in dark olive green that contrasts nicely with the white superstructure. While she picks up some of the features that made her predecessor, the CdM Nauta Air 108’ Narvalo, an international prize winner, Hyhmä manages to even improve on them, thanks to her longer LOA and wider beam.”

The Highest Latitude Yacht Expedition

The Highest Latitude: An Epic Yacht Expedition Movie

Film maker Shelton du Preez of Luxury Yacht Films produced an epic movie of a yacht expedition in Svalbard.

It seems to be going a trend to sail far, far away from the typical high-society party locations in the Med. In the last time, the 55m M/Y KAMALAYA and also M/Y GENE MACHINE visited this area. Every time again I enjoy those pictures.

Sailing through the Northwest Passage

The 45m M/Y LATITUDE was built by Timmerman and features an interior design by Bannenberg & Rowell. Exterior design and naval architecture came from the boards of Vripack.

The North: Awesome Movie of M/Y Kamalaya and her Wajer 38 Tender

Personally, I like videos of yachts in cold regions more than in the Med or in the Caribbean. Here comes M/Y Kamalaya and her tender - a Wajer 38.

The venue of the performance is Svalbard – a Norwegian archipelago (a group of islands with Spitsbergen as the largest island) in the Arctic Ocean. The North has two considerable protagonists.

There is the 55m motor yacht KAMALAYA that belongs to the Amels 180-series – a semi-custom yacht line with exterior design by Tim Heywood and built by Dutch shipyard Amels. The owner can bring an own interior designer. Additionally, the Wajer 38 – a design by Vripack with a top speed of 45 knots (depending on engine configuration).

But now, switch to full-screen mode, turn up the volume of your speakers and lean back.

Creative Lines from New Zealand produced this video. You can find them on Facebook and Instagram.

Jongert Vripack Revolution Expedition Yacht

47m Revolution by Jongert and Vripack

Dutch companies Jongert and Vripack developed the 47m Revolution concept.

Revolution is an explorer yacht for an owner who is also an experienced captain and enjoys to sail the yacht by himself and is based on the Flow concept. The yacht hosts seven cabins for guests and six cabins for the crew.

The yacht will be powered by a diesel-electric propulsion with two 360-degree rudder pods by Veth that will have a maximum power of 550 kW each. The pods aren’t existing but Veth will develop the system especially for this project that it meets the requirements by the engineers.

The forward located tender storage will host an 8-meter limo tender and a RIB.

Revolution will be built under the Large Yacht Code (LY3) regulation for commercial vessels. During a charter trip, she can carry up to 12 guests and 12 crew members. On private journeys, up 16 guests can enjoy the yacht and 14 crew members care for guests and yacht.

Marnix J. Hoekstra, Director of Vripack says:

“When you walk through the interior everything is where you expect it to be, yet she has an unconventional layout. Her smooth interior layout is balanced with a masculine layering exterior design. When you take a piece of paper in your hand, fold and cut it and place pieces on top of each other you get the effect we created. The visual disconnection between the various surfaces reveals a continuous champagne golden-lit infinite line making Revolution stand out from the crowd also at night time when you sail up with the limo from a romantic dinner on shore.”

About the interior décor, I can’t reveal anything other than that she is as much the yacht of the sportive adventurous owner as well as his lovely wife and playful kids. They came to us for a globetrotter which can safely handle the Seven Seas and provides the comfort of a family home and got nothing less.”

Furthermore, Marnix Hoekstra comments:

“With Revolution, we created a yacht that stops you from turning the page. She features the most sought-after form which follows function, embraces our holistic philosophy which leads to a masculine exterior and smooth interior with cutting-edge naval architecture. Our creative signature to finely balance apparent contradictions like raw and smooth is really translated well by the team in this yacht”.

Update: 24th of April 2017: It begins – Vripack announced the keel laying.

Jongert had a bi-colored model of REVOLUTION at the boot Düsseldorf 2018 to show two different color schemes. I think the dark version looks great but could be very warm if the yacht is in the Med or the Caribbean.

McMullen & Wing FLOW by Vripack

McMullen & Wing presents 3 Motor Yacht Concepts

Auckland-based yacht builder McMullen & Wing presents three motor yacht concepts by well-known yacht designers.

This design is inspired by the 45m Big Fish also designed by Gregory Marshall and built by McMullen & Wing. There is also another 50m project currently in build what is similar to the Diamond design.

My personal favorite – a great mix of traditional and modern lines. Designated with an enclosed beach house on the aft deck, sky lounge with “gull wing lookouts”. This one is not under construction but yacht based on the concept called Revolution is under construction at Jongert.

Not the typical expedition yacht, but Blade is equipped with large tenders, flexible interior and swimming pool.

Brazilian House on Water Vripack

Vripack designed Brazilian House inspired Yacht

A client came to the Dutch design studio Vripack with the question:  “Could you design a yacht with all the features of our traditional Brazilian house?” Vripack answered: "Yes of course, why not?" So they did.

Robin de Vries, designer at Vripack explains;

“The owner is in a time of his life where his children are old enough and his parents are young enough to join him on long voyages. They are active adventurers who will be cruising to harsh environments, so naturally, they require the ability to be comfortably inside together while still enjoying the outside ambiance in its entire splendor. With three generations, plus captain and crew, there’s definitely a lot happening on this boat. The layout of this globe-trotting vessel is, therefore, one of its key features.”

Marnix J. Hoekstra of Vripack added:

“Without proper guidelines, this could easily lead to something extremely modernistic. For the owner, it still has to look like a yacht. Not just a fancy object. It needed to be fresh and modern yet keeping traditional yacht lines. It isn’t a building; it’s a ship and it needs a bow.”.

Brazilian House on Water Vripack

When owner and guests are boarding at the stern they will find a lofty one-and-a-half-story welcome lounge with lazy spiraling stairs and a step less connection to two senior VIPs. Vripack designed this project have a feeling of openness, spaciousness and to be nearer to nature.

The owner’s area will be connected to the children’s cabin. This project features also the option to transform the cabin into one big family’s area.

Tenders and Toys will find their place on the main aft deck.

“The layout allows for the several different functions of a multi-generational family. She will sail all around the world, whether it is the Amazon or the Arctic and the Brazilian house architecture gave something unique to our yachting industry; the Hortus”, explains Robin.

We basically shifted the traditional Sky Lounge backward creating a full glass observatory. In front of that, we placed the Hortus which functions as a breeze way. Surrounded with glass bulwarks the area is open to the sides. The Hortus can be easily cooled down, heated but better yet while sailing or at anchor you can be safe with the kids in the elements, thus experiencing the great outdoors as never before.”

Marnix concludes:

“We have a tremendous amount of experience in modern explorers, but it’s the new degree of contemporary architecture in this concept that’s so exciting for us. With the lack of a traditional aft deck and the addition of a Brazilian-House-inspired open mid-deck the owner lets us know that we crafted a contemporary globe trotter that sets a new standard yet again.”.

Gamma 20 Libertas Yacht

Gamma 20 "Libertas" for opera singer Andrea Bocelli

Gamma Yachts delivered the third unit of the Gamma 20 to Italian opera singer Andrea Bocelli christened "Libertas".

The Gamma 20 was designed by the Dutch-based studio Vripack which is also responsible for the interior design and naval architectre. Gamma Yachts calls her: “Mini-Superyacht”.

Guido Bonandrini, CEO of Gamma Yachts says:

“The main elements of the Gamma 20 that are dictated to a client are the hull and superstructure shape; almost all other aspects can be adapted to the client’s tastes, much like you would expect on a yacht of a larger size. Particularly to the exterior fly bridge, we have seen major variations in each of the vessels delivered so far. The owner of M/Y Libertas, celebrated opera singer Andrea Bocelli, took the customisation even further than the previous Gamma 20 customers”.

For this yacht’s exterior, Bocelli specified a table and sofa to be placed forward of the wheelhouse to offer true immersion into the surroundings, particularly when underway. There is also a custom-built diving board on the extended flybridge to jump off the uppermost point of the yacht, and the hull is painted in an eye-catching metallic electric blue. The decking comes in teak as standard and there is an optional hydraulic swim platform that lowers into the water at the stern.

Interior

The Gamma 20 offers a living space of 170 m² with lower deck, main deck, fly bridge and walk around. The yacht accommodates nine 9 guests in 4 cabins.

The double-glass insulates allows piano and recording studio equipment to be used in the main saloon. For the interior finishes, the owner chose matte oak panelling with natural oak floors. The galley is fitted out with white Parapan and grey stained oak flooring.

Comment by owner Andrea Bocelli:

“I love the way space has been arranged so that our large extended family can be together, enjoying closeness and intimacy, while at the same time respecting everybody’s privacy. A yacht must meet precise needs and be able to make us feel at ease; it must comply with – and express both architecturally and technically – the same priorities as those living on it. Coziness, warm materials, safety, low noise levels and comfort: these were my needs, and they have been fully met. I needed a solid, safe and comfortable boat, and I am very happy with my choice in the Gamma 20.”

The Vripack designers made extensive testing and modeling to ensure the Gamma 20 matches up to the expectations of an owner looking for a superyacht experience in a more compact vessel. Vripack worked on the noise and vibration testing with Dutch firm Van Cappellan Consultancy, which also provided the insulation; and stabilisers from Naiad offer guests equal comfort whether at anchor or docked in a marina. As well as adding additional space for crew accommodation forward, the bow shape also provides excellent fuel economy for the yacht, which has a range of 1,270nm on 5,500L of fuel.

Marnix Hoekstra of Vripack says:

“The Gamma 20 has more to her than meets the eye. Below the curvaceous shape lies a luxury yacht concept that we approached with our holistic design philosophy. We believe that a great boat functions as a whole instead of a loose combination of separate parts.”

Bart Bouwhuis, also of Vripack added:

“There are a number of striking features that prove the power of such holistic thinking. For instance, the lack of steps and obstructions: each deck is truly on one level, preventing the risk of tripping. This is combined with fast displacement hull lines that are used specifically for comfort at anchor and at sea. The approach goes as far as the actual structure of the yacht to minimise the build time, applying our proprietary Smart Kit building technology. This allows the boat to be built faster as well as for a more rigid end product, which reduces noise and vibration to improve the guests’ experience.”

The Gamma 20 was constructed and delivered in just 10 months.
