90m DAR by Oceanco (Project Shark)

The 90-meter motor yacht DAR (ex Project SHARK) by Oceanco

Project SHARK has an exterior design by Luiz De Basto Designs and an interior design by Nuvolari Lenard. The yacht features large panoramic windows.

SHARK goes into the final outfitting stage and will be delivered to her owner in Summer 2018.

I stood in front of the yacht during the HISWA Superyacht Press Tour 2018 and she is much more impressive in real life than on any picture.

The upper deck is dedicated to the owner and has no walkaround opportunity for a maximum of privacy but access to the outside is guaranteed by private balconies and an access to a private jacuzzi.

Exterior designer Luiz DeBasto comments:

“The profile has a unique sense of contrast and homogeneity between the dark glass and the white balconies, providing a constant exchange in shape and lines between the two elements. My initial drawings may have looked like a futuristic concept, yet she is now a very real yacht on account of the execution made possible by the advanced technology of the Oceanco engineering team and by the vision of her experienced owner and his team.”

TUHURA Oceanco Yacht

TUHURA (115m) by Oceanco

Project TUHURA - a 115m stylish motor yacht design with a canoe stern (Polynesian style), presented by Oceanco.

The exterior design comes from Lobanov Design, the hull and propulsion system (ABB hybrid Azipod® contra-rotating propulsion) was developed by BMT Nigel Gee.

James Roy, Yacht Design Director at BMT explains:

“1700 years ago, the Polynesians decided to move and settle in a new land. This presented an unimaginable journey, which today would take five hours by jet. From the Marquesas Islands sailing thousands of miles north, using nothing but the stars and the birds for guidance, they discovered the Hawaiian Islands. Their mode of transport? A Canoe. This simple, yet robust design, sitting at around 18m long and about 5m wide, would carry up to 20 people and all their possessions and food including animals.”

TUHURA Oceanco Yacht

Igor Lobanov comments:

“Our Tuhura is a simple idea. The thought was to take a natural shape similar to those seen in the earliest canoe-type craft and augment it multifold to a larger scale, using modern technology.”

The interior design Achille Salvagni and is inspired by East Asia.

Salvagni Explains:

“Tuhura is a megayacht conceived for a dynamic owner, nevertheless the timeless sense of peace and calmness are the main characteristics. This softness and dynamicity are reflected in the humble elegance and sensuality of the primitive organic shapes echoed throughout.”

AQUIJO Vitters Oceanco

AQUIJO (85m) by Vitters and Oceanco delivered

The 85m ketch-rigged high-performance sailing yacht AQUIJO is a collaboration between Dutch shipyards Vitters and Oceanco.

Vitters is well-known for large sailing yachts and Oceanco is a specialist for even bigger motor yachts. Her exterior design and naval architecture were delivered by Tripp Design, while her interior design was made by the Hamburg-based design office Dölker + Voges.

Although AQUIJO is very big for a sailing yacht, her profile looks sporty to emphasize her promise to be the world’s largest high-performance ketch with a two-deck superstructure (and a flybridge on top) for a lot of space inside and outside.

Sailors like me are fans of rudder feedback which is not really given on big yachts. Vitters developed a rudder system which translates the hydrodynamic forces to the steering wheels on the flybridge.

Vitters describes her interior as clean, contemporary and modern (no interior photos yet). The forwarded mast has a height of 90m and is one of the tallest in the world.

Many wishes for a lot of fun and safety journeys to AQUIJO‘s owner and the crew.

Vitruvius ACQUAINTANCE Oceanco

Vitruvius / Oceanco: ACQUAINTANCE - 105m Motor Yacht Concept

ACQUAINTANCE is the collaboration result of Vitruvius Yachts (a brand by Philippe Briand) and Dutch luxury yacht builder OCEANCO.

ACQUAINTANCE is designed as a Passenger Yacht Code (PYC) motor yacht and will carry up to 24 guests. She should burn 20 percent less fuel than other vessels in her size.

She features a swimming pool on the main deck, the salon is showered in light and yields a 270-degree panoramic view. In most yachts, the guest cabins are on the lower deck. ACQUAINTANCE has 10 guest cabins forward on the main deck. So the guests can benefit from large windows and view over the sea.

The owner’s area is located above the bridge deck. The private terrace has no external access. So the owners have a lot of privacy. From the aft facing bedroom suite, there is an 180- degree panoramic view and forward is an observation lounge with much the same vantage point but facing the opposite direction. The top sundeck —accessible via the owner’s deck —has a sun protected bar and whirlpool aft.

The lowest guest deck onboard features a beach club, cinema, gym and spa at sea level and sports a skylight from which one can view the underside of the swimming pool overhead on the main deck. A garage supports a limo tender up to 12-meters in length as well as a myriad of other water-sports toys. Embarking and disembarking takes place amidships. When the beach club door is closed there is no exterior access to the yacht, thus ensuring 100 percent security.

INFINITY Y710 by Oceanco

89m "Infinity" by Oceanco handed over

Superyacht builder Oceanco from the Netherlands delivered the 89m motor yacht "Infinity" (formerly knows as Y710), designed by Espen Oeino with interior design by Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design and David Kleinberg Design Associates.

Oceanco describes her as a "go-anywhere yacht" so her range is over 3.500 nautic miles. I guess her range is about 5.000 nm. Espen Oeino gave her fine traditional lines but she is also looking a bit masculine. I like that.

Infinity's guests can find an outdoor beach and swimming area on the lower aft deck. Another area for relaxing with a 5m circular swimming pool is located on the main deck.

The upper deck is the home of an indoor/outdoor al fresco dining and entertainment area. On the sun deck are the typical luxury features: Jacuzzi, bar and observation lounge.

Wishing the owner fun with his/her yacht.
