Arcadia A105

Arcadia 105 feat. Hot Lab

New Arcadia 105 in collaboration with Hot Lab Yacht & Design presented.

The new Arcadia 105 is the evolution of the 100 feet model presented in her full grace in February 2017. It is the first time that Arcadia – the innovation-driven yard with the green aspiration – teams up with the Milan-based studio Hot Lab Yacht & Design.

Antonio Romano comments:

“In general we will respect the masculine lines, clean and multifaceted, that represent the familiar image of the yard; we will reinterpret them to further develop the onboard living spaces, both inside and out, that represent the quintessence of each ARCADIA yacht”.

The 105 got some updates on the exterior design like a wider lounge area on the sundeck. Furthermore a sunbathing area on the bow.

In total, the Arcadia 105 offers seats for more than 20 guests for dining. 10 on the formal dining table, another twelve at lounge area that can be transformed into a dining area.

The main salon has full-height windows and fold-out bulwarks to create a kind of a luxurious pavilion on the water.

The superstructure has the typical Arcadia feature: An army of solar panels that reduces generator use to a minimum. This system makes the yachts very autarkic without diesel smell or noise. It produces enough power to run the most important systems.

Arcadia 105 Hot Lab Interior

The upper deck with helm station is a combination between outdoor and indoor space. Thanks to electric windows like in a car, it can be fully enclosed when bad weather comes out or can be opened for sunny days.

Ugo Pellegrino, ARCADIA YACHTS sole administrator, comments on the new direction:

“We are convinced that the success of a yard, which includes us at ARCADIA, is connected to the experience that the owner and his entourage are part of, from the moment that they begin to think about a new yacht to when they decide to sell it to buy another. Here the role of the design studio in the early phase of design plays a fundamental role in creating a solid and trustworthy relationship between the yard and the owner. We, therefore, went to the best professionals in yacht design who not only are technically prepared, but also have an extraordinary ability to listen and to emphasize. Only when we could completely identify ourselves with the owners could we really understand the nuances of the client’s needs and imagine designing the details that make the difference when creating a successful semi-custom project.

After thinking very hard about our choices and working together on several pilot projects, we decided that the best partner to evolve into ARCADIA 2.0 would be the design studio Hot Lab. I am sure that our collaboration will be an immediate success, both with our first projects and with the relations that we are developing with old and new ARCADIA clients.”

“The purpose of our work with ARCADIA will be to contribute to the continual evolution of the brand, already so avant-garde”, explains Antonio Romano, partner at Hot Lab. “Our objective is to develop the winning characteristics of the ARCADIA brand in concordance with client briefs. ARCADIA Yachts is a consolidated and successful reality and we have approached them with enormous respect and pleasure given our first-hand experience with the quality of their products and their highly professional workforce and management.”

There are five different interior layouts to meet the requirements of many owners. Below one example.

Arcadia Sherpa XL

Arcadia Sherpa XL

Some years ago, Arcadia presented the 17m Sherpa with her unique design. Now they come up with the Arcadia Sherpa XL with almost 24m, designed by Hot Lab (exterior and interior).

Arcadia is known for unique yacht designs and a focus to reduce the carbon footprint with optimized hulls, lightweight materials and the use of solar panels. The Arcadia Sherpa XL comes with a length of 23.80m, a beam of 6.90m and 220 sqm of interior space.

The semi-displacement yacht has a top speed of 22 knots, powered by two Volvo Penta IPS 1050 engines. Arcadia says the Sherpa XL is 30 – 35 % more efficient than other yachts in her class.

Ugo Pellegrino, the Sole Director of ARCADIA YACHTS says:

“SHERPA XL retains all of ARCADIA’s fundamental brand values – comfort, performance, easy handling, eco-friendly technology and personalization options in terms of layout and décor. This new project means a great deal to me, personally, because I spent a lot of time on SHERPA and fully appreciated its qualities. I would like this new model to be another step towards the creation of a new concept of yacht, which gives the green light to a new line and is not simply a SHERPA on a larger scale. The latter would have been a quicker and easier solution for us, but we fully intend to keep our role as innovators and to continue to push our industry further.”

Interior

The master suite has a size of over 22 sqm. Furthermore, there is a VIP suite in the bow. The yacht can be ordered with a three or four cabin layout.

Enrico Lumini, Interior Chief Designer of Hot Lab explains:

With regard to interior design, our intent was to bring this project as close as possible to the requests of potential Owners – large spaces, great interaction with the surrounding environment and a contemporary, simple and essential style. Simple geometries maximise volumes and if, on the one hand, this leads us to forgetting where we are, i.e. on an almost 24-metre yacht, on the other hand it allows to make the best use of the available space, providing guests with greater comfort while living on board.

FOR.TH 47m Arcadia Hot Lab

FOR.TH - 47m by Arcardia Yachts

Arcadia Yachts presents FOR.TH a new 47m motor yacht concept designed by Hot Lab.

Arcadia is known for their approach creating eco-friendly motor yachts with extensive use of solar panels to reduce the use of generators that is also a goal for the comfort at anchor with less noise and smell. Furthermore, the yard has an eye to be eco-friendly during the production of the yachts.

One of the eye-catching features is the large open aft deck with sun beds and a big lounge that reminds a bit of the SHERPA model.

The sun deck has a size of 78 sqm and offers a transparent Jacuzzi, a bar and another area with sunbeds and seating area. One step down to the upper deck, there can be found another bar. The interior part (aka sky lounge) of the yacht features full-height windows. This upper deck contains also the home of the captain with direct access to the wheelhouse.

The 51 sqm owner’s suite with office and lateral terrace is placed on the main deck. Behind that area is the 53 sqm main salon with full-height windows

The lower deck has two VIP cabins with a size of 29 sqm and two 16 sqm twin-bed guest cabins. At the aft is the gym with a glass sliding to door the large fixed bathing platform.

The 47m yacht has a beam of 9m and the first one with a steel hull by the yard.

Statement by the yard:

“Ultimately, this is an extremely innovative and revolutionary yacht that maintains the exclusive ARCADIA styling, a yacht that continues to confirm the yard’s role as a trailblazer and protagonist in what will be 21st Century yachting.”

Divine Columbus Yacht 40M Sport Hybrid

Divine - a 40m Hybrid Yacht by Columbus Yachts

Divine - Italian lady with German power

Divine is one of few motor yachts with hybrid propulsion. The yacht has a length of 40m and was designed by HydroTec (naval architecture and exterior design) in cooperation with the yard Columbus Yachts (part of the Palumbo Group). The interior design delivered Hot Lab.

Hybrid Propulsion – Three modes

Diesel Mode

With the clutch disengaged, the hybrid system is completely invisible. The vessel is propelled by the traditional propulsion system: primary engines, gearbox, shaft and propeller.

Electric Mode

This technology, several decades old, is often found on ferries and cruise ships. It is known as diesel-electric propulsion. The generators are running and provide current to the electrics panel which then regulates the electric motor as a service element. Each electric motor on the Columbus 40M Sport Hybrid absorbs 75 kW out of the available 200 kW, 100 kW per generator, for a total of 150 kW. 50 kW are therefore free for other uses. The clutch is engaged, the electric motor turns the gearbox which in turn revolves the propeller.

When under way in Electric Mode, the yacht behaves like a sailboat: there is no noise or vibration aboard, while her speed is relatively slow. Each motor’s upper limit of 75 kW gives the yacht a top speed of eight knots, but in complete silence. Another plus of the Electric Mode is fuel consumption: approx. 80 liters/hour, a notable advantage for a 40-meter long yacht.

Shaft Generator Mode

This is the most applied system in the maritime and yachting world. Here the primary engine turns the gearbox which then turns the shaft and propeller. When the clutch is engaged while the engine is running, the electric motor can be used as a generator: the primary engine runs the electric motor which in turn provides electricity. The primary generators are therefore turned off and all the vessel’s electrical

needs are satisfied by the electric motor. This allows for decreased fuel consumption as both generators are off and the primary engine is running under optimal load: with 2,000 hp available, an additional 75 kW (the maximum load for the electric motor) is insignificant in overall fuel consumption. With the generators off this mode not only decreases fuel consumption but also eliminates the need for generator maintenance during lengthy deliveries.

NINA Heesen Yacht

NINA - An 38m Heesen Project

NINA - the new 38m motor yacht project by Heesen and Hot Lab Yacht Design will be a full aluminum semi-displacement yacht with a top speed of 22 knots.

Hot Lab from Milan designed with NINA a sporty and elegant luxury motor yacht. Inside and Outside. On top is a flybridge with bimini top, a grill, bar and dining area. There is also space for tender and watersports equipment. At the bow is a sunbathing area in front of the covered bridge. That provides privacy in ports.

The interior of the main saloon is light and has a wonderful wooden floor in the delivered renderings. It makes it very nearly perfect for me.

The yacht accommodates 10 guests including owners. The owner’s area is on the main deck forward. The guest area is on the lower deck with two double bed cabins and two double cabins with single beds. There is also the crew quarter with mess and beds for a crew of six. All cabins are equipped with ensuite bathrooms.

RMK 5000: Modern Explorer Yacht by RMK and Hot Lab

RMK Marine and Hot Lab Yacht & Design unveiled the RMK 5000 Explorer yacht complete concept.

RMK 5000 project shows two primary variations the True Luxury Explorer and the Leisure, both of which have a great deal of flexibility to suit the individual client requirements and the tastes of the current market.

Designed with modern lines and soft curves there is smooth uncluttered look and feel to the design. The full displacement hulls on both designs provide long range cruising with thanks to the diesel/electric propulsion package under 500 GT thresholds. Both projects accommodate up to 10 guests plus owner and 8 crew plus the Captain.

On the True Luxury Explorer concept, there is a vast aft deck specifically designed to accommodate a tender of up to 10.2m. When equipping the aft deck with the custom tender, the area beneath is dedicated to underwater and on-water excursion toys including a submarine, diving room, hovpods and jet-skis.

While the exact General Arrangement is in the configuration phase, this area can also be converted into a “touch and go” helicopter deck in order to enjoy the most out of this explorer superyacht and the areas it will take you to. This helicopter deck will give the Owner and guests the freedom of exploring even the most secluded areas. With the heli deck version aft, a tender of 9m can be stored under the main deck behind the engine room with a pair of jet skis that are launched using the winged shell door configuration.

In addition to these amenities that can be enjoyed with families and friends, special attention is given to additional storage, ease of provisioning, extra freezing spaces and cold garbage storage that combined complete the package of circumnavigation without a need of stopping in unscheduled ports.

On the Leisure concept, the helipad is substituted with a 6-meter wide swimming pool and sunbeds creating an environment of peace and quiet whilst enjoying the ultimate cruising experience. The 9m tender is cleverly placed in the lazarette, which uses an overhead crane to deploy it easily over the side into the sea.

For both the True Luxury Explorer and Leisure design, the beach club area is to the stern, thus providing friends and families’ unforgettable moments enjoying their culinary and drinks whilst admiring the activities going on. An additional feature comes with the hydraulically operated bottom hinged transom door which creates an extended area for the beach club.

The purpose of having two inside dining tables is to be able to dine on the sun deck (observation deck) with 360 degrees of view in an enclosed area that can be turned into an alfresco dining area at the touch of a button operating the sliding doors during your voyages in warmer climates. The other dining table is situated right on the wheelhouse deck of RMK 5000.

The two layouts designed by Hot Lab has both four large cabins in the central part of lower deck with en suite bathroom, perfect for the actual charter market. The crew has four double cabins, a big crew mess and a laundry. This area is placed at the forward part of the lower deck. The crew area is connected by a dedicated staircase to the fully equipped galley on the main deck. On the starboard side, at the center of the main deck, the yacht has a spacious lobby, going forward once arriving in a huge master cabin with a folding balcony, a lounge area, a big vanity and a king size bed. The bathroom is just in front of.

The yacht has an ice-class and is powered by a diesel-electric propulsion or a diesel only option.
