White Yacht Heesen

WHITE by Heesen (ex Project AYLA)

Heesen Yachts announced the launch of Project AYLA aka YN 18250 that is now christened M/Y WHITE.

WHITE is a 50m full-aluminum yacht under 500 GT with exterior lines by Omega Architects and interior design by Cristiano Gatto. The yacht has a maximum speed of 23 knots but also a range of 3,100 nautical miles at a speed of 11 knots. According to the yard, the yacht is very quiet.

Pictures were taken by Dick Holthuis

Unfortunately, there are currently no interior pictures available but Heesen describes the interior design as follows:

Gatto created bespoke pieces of furniture for the main saloon and sky lounge, which are both exquisite and highly distinctive additions to White’s interior. A versatile round coffee table in glossy ebony, stainless steel and leather features a convertible top that adapts to requirements – either an ice bucket for grand entertaining or leather tray for sophisticated living, while the custom-designed sofas with Loro Piana upholstery has armrests that encompass bookshelves.

A sense of space and relaxation is the key-theme throughout the yacht, both inside in private and social areas, and outside where fabrics from Hermès have been used for the decoration. Refined detailing and a neutral palette that spans from white to brown passing through all hues of beige, hazel, and caramel, create highly sophisticated environments. Glossy ebony and Canaletto walnut surfaces have been used throughout the yacht.”.

The yacht was delivered in May 2019 to her owners.

The exterior is a design by Omega Architects while the interior comes from the Miami-based studio RADYCA. The calculation with the Fast Displacement Hull Form was done by the Heesen in-house team and Van Oossanen.

Laurentia has a 102 m² sky lounge with a 180-degrees view and panorama windows. Her big sun deck has a space of 110 m². The owners master suite is located on the main deck. Guests can sleep in 5 cabins on the lower deck. There are a full beam VIP suite, 2 twin, and 2 double cabins.

At the stern is a beach club located, while the tenders are stored on the foredeck. She will be powered by two MTU diesel engines with a range of 4,500 nautical miles at 13 knots. With 12 knots she will reach impressive 5,400 nautical miles without a fuel stop.

Currently no interior pictures. Here the described interior by the yard:

“SIMPLICITY, WARMTH, and COMFORT through the use of select materials and a high level of craftsmanship, are the key ingredients in the creation of Alida’s refined interior. The overall design is for an owner who understands luxury, relaxation, and entertainment while yachting.

Contrast is achieved by the consistent use of neutral hues found in open-grain white oak and different tones of wengé, taupe and gray leathers, wool carpets, and light textured suedes. White Arabescato and Grecale brown marble slabs emphasize the purity of the design.”

Interior designer Ramon Alonso comments:

“The objective was to create a clean and simple, yet sophisticated, interior that evokes tranquility in a relaxed and elegant atmosphere”

Book Ends Heesen Yacht

Book Ends by Heesen Yachts

Heesen announced that M/Y Book Ends (aka Project Ruya, aka YN 17947) is now delivered to the owner

Book Ends is a 47m full displacement motor yacht under 500 GT with a total exterior deck space of 180 sqm. Her sun deck has a space of 85 sqm.

At the stern is a transom that transforms into a swim platform. There will be also the tender garage with a stored 6.5m tender and a 3m jet ski.

The captain comments:

“It feels very safe as Book Ends’ structure is solid – Dutch solid! The vessel is very responsive and accepts steering commands immediately. The use of the large rudders in conjunction with the power steering unit makes for a very quick reaction when the steering tiller is moved, even the slightest amount.
We can’t wait to welcome the Owners on board their new home away from home!”

Book Ends‘ interior was designed by Bannenberg & Rowell. Twelve guests can sleep aboard in 5 staterooms. The owner’s suite is located on the main deck at the forward area. The other staterooms are on the lower deck and equipped with ensuite bathrooms.

“We took the idea of movement as the foundation for the new interior concept for Project Ruya,” Dickie Bannenberg comments, “so expect a taut muscular and fluid design with sporty, hi-tech finishes. The ambiance will be fresh and light with textiles, carpets, and graphics discreetly referencing themes of energy, direction, and progress. We feel this is synonymous with Heesen’s progressive and contemporary brand values, and that Project Ruya will be a worthy complement to the Heesen fleet. She is our fifth collaboration with the yard in its popular 47m class.”

The yacht is powered by two MTU 8V 4000 diesel engines for a top speed of 15.6 knots (0.6 knots over contract). At an economical speed of 12 knots, she has a transatlantic range of 4,000 nautical miles.

Book Ends will spend the summer in the Mediterranean and will cross the Atlantic for the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

Home Yacht Heesen

Home, Sweet Home

M/Y HOME is the world's first fast displacement yacht by Heesen with a hybrid propulsion. The yacht is also known as Project NOVA and YN 17859.

HOME is a full aluminum yacht under 500 GT and measures 50m in length. She has a transatlantic range of 3,750 nautical miles at a speed of 12 knots. Her twin MTU 12V with 600 kW each power her up to 16.3 knots. Her two 127 kW electric engines offer a speed of 9 knots just using generators with less noise and vibrating.

The yacht features – like many other successful Heesen yachts – the Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) by Dutch naval architects Van Oossanen. The exterior design was created by Omega Architects.

During her sea trials, HOME reached the contractual speed of 16.3 with the traditional diesel engines and 9 knots in hybrid mode. Also, the noise and vibrations levels are under the contracted goals.

Furthermore, the yacht showed her efficiency. At 12 knots she consumes 98 liters per hour of diesel. That can be reduced to 45 liters per hour in the hybrid mode with a speed of 10 knots. Announced was a range of 3,750 nautical miles at 12 knots. Heesen corrected this number up to 4,250 nm.

The owner assigned Cristiano Gatto to design the sophisticated linear interior. The full-beam owner suite (forward on the main deck) features floor-to-ceiling windows and a private study.

Guests cabins can be found on the lower deck amidships. There are two doubles, two twins, and one full-beam VIP suite. The crew area with mess and cabins is forward located. On the lower deck is also the Gym and SPA. This area is also directly connected to the main deck through an extra staircase.

Heesen has a sister ship under construction. The project is for sale and ready in 2019.

Benetti Now FAST 224 68m

Benetti Now FAST-series from 50 to 68m

In Addition to the Benetti Now, the yard presents the new Benetti Now FAST in three sizes from 50m to 68m.

Benetti committed three very well-known design studios to create the Now FAST-series. OMEGA Architects created the exterior lines, Mulder Design (known for high-speed superyachts) made the naval architecture. ENRICO GOBBI – TEAM FOR DESIGN is responsible for the interior design.

The new line is available as BF164 (50m), BF 184 (56m) and BF224 (68m). Each model comes also as a raised pilothouse version (BF164’ X, BF 184’ X and BF 224’ X).

Now FAST is a semi-custom line but offers customization of the exterior and interior layout, the option for a closed sundeck or a raised pilothouse, decor and engine configuration to match your needs of performance.

The comfort of a displacement hull with performance and speed is the key feature of this series to enjoy short journeys with the benefits of a bigger yacht. Also, improved safety, reliability, and reduced consumption.

There are currently no interior renderings. Benetti describes the interior as follows:

“For the warm and balanced interiors of the BF164’ 50 m, have been chosen smooth, rounded lines with very few angles that contrast with various geometric elements like tables and nightstands, to create a setting that is warm, harmonious and welcoming. The dominant wood used is light hued oak, creating a contrast with the dark natural walnut used for the C-shaped window structures. The colourways used for the fabrics and furnishings are muted, ranging from beige and brown to dark gray.”

Heesen's 45m "Amore Mio" (Project Necto)

Project Necto by Heesen is now M/Y Amore Mio and is ready to hit the water of the North Sea for the sea trials.

Amore Mio pictures by Dick Holthuis

Amore Mio was designed for loving speed – the naval engineers at Heesen gave her a top speed of 30 knots. The sporty and elegant exterior look came from the pens of Omega Architects. The third design party is Cristiano Gatto and his design team.

Heesen constructed her semi-displacement hull in full aluminum and equipped her with two MTU 16V diesel engines, gyro stabilizers, and active interceptors to name some key features of Amore Mio.

“The motto is simple: power with comfort.”

The sun deck features a flybridge the typically high-end yacht “standard” like a dining, lounge area with armchairs and a special for the chef: Teppanyaki – a style of the Japanese cuisine.

The build captain developed the Man Overboard (MOB) Rapid Reaction System. If someone noticed a man overboard, the person can push one of the multiple buttons placed around the yacht to open the hatches, dropping life rings in the water, to trigger the alarm on the bridge and crew areas and to record the position in the card plotter.

The tender garage will house a 5.90m mahogany tender by Swiss boat builder Boesch.
