Heesen announced the keel laying of project ORION aka YN 20750 - a 50m Fast Displacement Hull Form motor yacht with hybrid propulsion.

The aluminum hybrid yacht with two MTU 12V 2000 M61 engines is just under 500 GT and offers quiet and efficient journeys. At a speed of 12 knots, ORION consumes 98 liters of diesel per hour; at 10 knots in hybrid mode, the 295-ton yacht needs just 45 liters per hour.

The Fast Displacement Hull Form (Erica, ELA, Amare II, Home) has been developed by Van Oossanen Naval Architects. The exterior design comes from Omega Architects, while the interior design is by Cristiano Gatto. No interior renderings yet, but Heesen Yachts describes the interior design as follows:

“[…] unique contemporary interior design, making the most out of bright internal spaces, floodlit with natural light, that offer sweeping views of the surrounding seascape thanks to open bulwarks. The six-stateroom layout, with the master on the main deck forward, a full beam VIP, and two double and two twin staterooms on the lower deck, make this yacht ideal for both private and charter use.”

Delivery is scheduled for February 2025.
