White Yacht Heesen

WHITE by Heesen (ex Project AYLA)

Heesen Yachts announced the launch of Project AYLA aka YN 18250 that is now christened M/Y WHITE.

WHITE is a 50m full-aluminum yacht under 500 GT with exterior lines by Omega Architects and interior design by Cristiano Gatto. The yacht has a maximum speed of 23 knots but also a range of 3,100 nautical miles at a speed of 11 knots. According to the yard, the yacht is very quiet.

Pictures were taken by Dick Holthuis

Unfortunately, there are currently no interior pictures available but Heesen describes the interior design as follows:

Gatto created bespoke pieces of furniture for the main saloon and sky lounge, which are both exquisite and highly distinctive additions to White’s interior. A versatile round coffee table in glossy ebony, stainless steel and leather features a convertible top that adapts to requirements – either an ice bucket for grand entertaining or leather tray for sophisticated living, while the custom-designed sofas with Loro Piana upholstery has armrests that encompass bookshelves.

A sense of space and relaxation is the key-theme throughout the yacht, both inside in private and social areas, and outside where fabrics from Hermès have been used for the decoration. Refined detailing and a neutral palette that spans from white to brown passing through all hues of beige, hazel, and caramel, create highly sophisticated environments. Glossy ebony and Canaletto walnut surfaces have been used throughout the yacht.”.

The yacht was delivered in May 2019 to her owners.

Home Yacht Heesen

Home, Sweet Home

M/Y HOME is the world's first fast displacement yacht by Heesen with a hybrid propulsion. The yacht is also known as Project NOVA and YN 17859.

HOME is a full aluminum yacht under 500 GT and measures 50m in length. She has a transatlantic range of 3,750 nautical miles at a speed of 12 knots. Her twin MTU 12V with 600 kW each power her up to 16.3 knots. Her two 127 kW electric engines offer a speed of 9 knots just using generators with less noise and vibrating.

The yacht features – like many other successful Heesen yachts – the Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) by Dutch naval architects Van Oossanen. The exterior design was created by Omega Architects.

During her sea trials, HOME reached the contractual speed of 16.3 with the traditional diesel engines and 9 knots in hybrid mode. Also, the noise and vibrations levels are under the contracted goals.

Furthermore, the yacht showed her efficiency. At 12 knots she consumes 98 liters per hour of diesel. That can be reduced to 45 liters per hour in the hybrid mode with a speed of 10 knots. Announced was a range of 3,750 nautical miles at 12 knots. Heesen corrected this number up to 4,250 nm.

The owner assigned Cristiano Gatto to design the sophisticated linear interior. The full-beam owner suite (forward on the main deck) features floor-to-ceiling windows and a private study.

Guests cabins can be found on the lower deck amidships. There are two doubles, two twins, and one full-beam VIP suite. The crew area with mess and cabins is forward located. On the lower deck is also the Gym and SPA. This area is also directly connected to the main deck through an extra staircase.

Heesen has a sister ship under construction. The project is for sale and ready in 2019.

Oceanic 76 'Bull'

Oceanic 76 'Bull' - Fast Expedition Vessel

The Oceanic 76 is the entry model of fast expedition vessels by Italian shipyard Canados

Oceanic 76 is the entry level of the Oceanic Line. Her bigger sisters are available in 95 feet, 120 feet, and 140 feet. This model has a maximum speed of 26 to 32+ knots and a cruising speed of 20 – 27 knots and a range up to 320 nautical miles at 20 knots depending on engine configuration. Canados says it took just 5 months from scratch to built the yacht.

Michel Karsenti, owner of the shipyard:

“I am naturally proud of seeing our first new model build in a record time going in the water today. I am even prouder, that despite the technical complication of this specific model and her 5-month built time, she is delivered only one day late despite 12 days of permissible delays according to contract. But my true pride is to work with people like you. You’ve been working 7 days a week to make a client happy, to deliver a superb yacht and this is the true testimony of the shipyard’s philosophy and what makes Canados so unique…”

Statement by the owner and his wife:

“When we signed the contract, we were convinced that the boat could not be finished at the promised date, but the Oceanic 76’ GT was really the most desirable boat to us. Today, I can say that we both can’t believe what we see.

The respect of the delivery time, the incredible quality in the smallest details is beyond expectations! We are today, very proud to be part of the Canados family. The boat you’ve built for us is truly a super-yacht in a small boat package. We previously had 5 boats build in Italy and let me say it, Canados represents the epitome of Italian Excellence. Thank you so much!”.

The Renowned Cristiano Gatto Design Team is responsible for the interior design and assists future owners realizing their dream interior.

“Working with Canados requires discipline from a design standpoint in the sense we have to adapt some of our modern designs to traditional hand manufacturing that, nowadays, are rarely found anywhere. Myself and the entire team at Cristiano Gatto Design are really proud as we know from fact, anything is possible at Canados and every detail will always be produced in the best possible way. We experienced great collaboration with Canados in the past and I know their interiors can only exceed both my team and the client’s expectations. I must also say that it is very convenient to visit the shipyard during a project and jump from the boat under production to the 2,000 square meter joinery shed and discuss any details with Canados exceptional craftsmen”.

Heesen's 45m "Amore Mio" (Project Necto)

Project Necto by Heesen is now M/Y Amore Mio and is ready to hit the water of the North Sea for the sea trials.

Amore Mio pictures by Dick Holthuis

Amore Mio was designed for loving speed – the naval engineers at Heesen gave her a top speed of 30 knots. The sporty and elegant exterior look came from the pens of Omega Architects. The third design party is Cristiano Gatto and his design team.

Heesen constructed her semi-displacement hull in full aluminum and equipped her with two MTU 16V diesel engines, gyro stabilizers, and active interceptors to name some key features of Amore Mio.

“The motto is simple: power with comfort.”

The sun deck features a flybridge the typically high-end yacht “standard” like a dining, lounge area with armchairs and a special for the chef: Teppanyaki – a style of the Japanese cuisine.

The build captain developed the Man Overboard (MOB) Rapid Reaction System. If someone noticed a man overboard, the person can push one of the multiple buttons placed around the yacht to open the hatches, dropping life rings in the water, to trigger the alarm on the bridge and crew areas and to record the position in the card plotter.

The tender garage will house a 5.90m mahogany tender by Swiss boat builder Boesch.

Heesen Project Nova

Heesen's Project "Nova" - a Hybrid Superyacht

Heesen released some more stuff of their 50m hybrid yacht project Nova.

The yacht was launched as M/Y HOME

Nova was developed to be very efficient underway on the seven seas. Heesen promises a very low noise yacht for a high standard of comfortable cruising with electric engines. In the “Quiet Cruising Mode” she sails with 9 knots with her electric generators and the main generators. When the captain chooses the “Economic Cruising Mode”, she will use the MTU diesel engines. The main generators are off. The power for the systems comes from the electric generators. The “Boost Mode” will power her up to 16.5 knots with diesel engines and electric engines together.

The exterior design was made by Omega Architects together with Van Oossanen as the naval architect. The designers gave Nova a modern vertical bow, big windows, and an awesome fixed bathing platform as a nice entry in marinas and great times at anchor.

The yacht accommodates 10 guests in five cabins including VIP cabin on the lower deck. The owner’s suite is on the main deck located. The owner appointed Cristiano Gatto as the interior designer.

Heesen 17850 Project Nova Interior

Cristiano Gatto comments:

“The owner asked us to modify color scheme, design details and overall decoration to give the interior a contemporary, almost minimalist design. We stepped in when the outfitting works were at an advanced stage, so we had to work with the existing structures. A two-tone palette has been chosen to give the interiors a bright and relaxing feel. The contrast between the pure white of fabrics, leather and lacquered surfaces and the warm hues of woods, create a sophisticated ambiance in all the rooms, bathrooms included. Hints of color brighten the scheme with deep red or burgundy decorative items, cushions and throws in both the exterior and interior areas to catch the eye and juice things up. The linearity of design is enriched by geometrical patterns, precious materials and meticulously designed details.”

Launch is scheduled for April 2017.

I-Nova by Cosmo Explorer

SPOTLIGHT ON: 50m "I-Nova" by Cosmo Explorer

The Greek shipyard Cosmo Explorer built the 50m I-Nova in 2013 to a Cristiano Gatto design who is responsible for the exterior and interior design.

The yard and designer developed I-Nova as a D0 ice class explorer yacht with extra-thick steel plates and propeller shafts, propellers, sea chests, rudders and steering gear systems, as well as the sea water cooling system to meet the ABS classification requirements.

Cristiano Gatto and his team designed I-Nova for an experienced yacht owner who had own ideas for his perfect yacht. The yacht has five decks with a functional layout which offers a lot of private space for the owner with a large cabin on the main deck. A private staircase leads to the upper deck with a big private panorama saloon.

Above the Upper Deck is I-Nova‘s Bridge Deck located which housing a well-equipped wheelhouse and two cabins, one for the yacht’s Captain and the other for the Engineer. The panoramic position of the helm station allows a perfect visibility further enhanced by the reversed windows which eliminate all glares from the dashboard.

A large terrace astern with twin tables and sun beds is the right spot to have breakfast or to dine under the stars. The outdoor loose furniture on this deck, sunbeds and armchairs, belong to Roda’s Mistral and Network collection in natural teak.

Behind the owners upper deck is the big storage deck for tenders which is equipped with a Fabio Buzzi 34 Semi-enclosed rib tender and a Scorpion 8.5 ST rib tender which can be lowered with the installed 5-ton crane with 9-metre outreach. The storage deck is also suitable as a party deck.

The guests can find a gym, jacuzzi and sunbathing area on the observation deck.

Heesen project Necto motor yacht 17145

Heesen's 45m project NECTO sold

Well-known Dutch luxury yacht builder Heesen announced the sale of 45m Sportster project NECTO

Update: Launched as M/Y Amore Mio

This 45m Omega Architects styled semi-displacement yacht combines pure luxury and comfort. Necto will be built in full aluminum (hull and superstructure) and will reach impressive 30 knots with her twin MTU engines. Her operating range is 2.750 nautic miles at 12 knots.

Frank Laupman has interpreted the Dutch shipyard DNA with a touch of innovation by introducing the ‘knuckle’ – a design element that interrupts the line of the raked bow and gives this new breed of Heesen — with its much sharper and narrower bow — a particularly aggressive look.

Heesen project Necto motor yacht 17145

The interior décor of Necto is by acclaimed Italian designer Cristiano Gatto who is currently working on his third project with the Dutch shipyard. The Owners chose a contemporary yet cozy design for the interior of their 45m Sportster. Warm Canaletto walnut is the main veneer, which perfectly complements the light tones of Loro Piana fabrics and the warm colors of the different finishes; pale blue soft furnishings give a relaxed and light feeling to the yacht’s interior.

Heesen project Necto motor yacht 17145

Ten guests will be accommodated in five cabins: The full beam master suite is located on the main deck, while the four guest cabins – two twins and two doubles – are on the lower deck.

The Owners dedicated special attention to the outdoor areas of their new vessel; the ultra-spacious sundeck is particularly impressive. As an expansive 84-square meter area, completely free from fixed furniture, it is available for guests to carry out their morning exercise – yet another unusual and particularly remarkable design feature on a yacht of this size.

Necto (YN 17145) will be delivered to her Owners after intensive sea trials in the North Sea in January 2016.

Crazy Me heesen yachts

"Crazy Me" by Heesen Yachts

Heesen Yachts announced the launch of Crazy Me, a 50-meter one-off.

YN 16250, a 50m all-aluminium, the semi-displacement motor yacht was recently launched at the Heesen facility in Oss. She was christened Crazy Me during a private ceremony followed by a party thrown by the Owners to celebrate the fine craftsmanship and hard work of the team of Heesen sta and subcontractors who created this unique vessel.

Crazy Me heesen yachts

Crazy Me is a very special yacht; the credit for her conception must first go to her visionary Owner, who pushed the boundaries of creativity and design. The Owner appointed Gary Grant to design the radical exterior lines of his new superyacht: His eye for detail when collaborating with the Exterior Designer has been instrumental in achieving the clean, pure lines that form the unique profile with its distinctive “swoosh” line from bow to stern that will make this vessel highly recognizable at sea.

One of the most striking elements of this design is the use of Formed glass, another Gary Grant Design signature. As well as looking great, it is very strong, effective at sound insulation and the low-reflective surface provides excellent visibility.

[youtube url=”https://youtu.be/J0bLkxYzfWs”]

For the interior, the Owner chose the renowned Italian designer Cristiano Gatto, who assisted him in creating a stunning interior where the clean, linear and contemporary design emphasizes the incredible internal volume.

Perhaps the craziest area of Crazy Me is located on the sundeck that houses a huge custom glass-bottomed pool which allows light to dapple the main deck aft seating area below. There’s also an incredible music system pioneered by the Owner, with a fully customized speaker supplier brand new to yachting.

Crazy Me will undergo sea trials in the North Sea and delivery to her Owners is due in June 2013.
