SANTOSHA, aka YN 20457, is the first unit of the 57m series by the Dutch yacht builder Heesen Yachts. The yacht was built for an experienced owner and features a glass elevator.
The inaugural model in Heesen’s latest lineup, 780GT, boasts spacious interior and exterior designs by Frank Laupman from Omega Architects.
Initially constructed in the hope of success, the ship’s design evolved significantly after the new owners took over. In collaboration with the yacht’s interior designer, Harrison Eidsgaard, and Heesen’s team of interior experts, the new owners customized the yacht to mirror their style and way of life, turning it into Santosha.
Santosha was selected for the yacht, with the lotus flower chosen as its emblem. The owners of Santosha aimed to furnish the interior with a serene yet sophisticated atmosphere, which Heesen’s skilled artisans skillfully achieved. The owners played a significant role in choosing materials, opting for eco-friendly choices like reclaimed wood, high-quality leather, and ‘art silk’ rugs. With its open design and a selection of neutral colors, the yacht blends luxury with practicality.
Describing of Santosha's interior
The owners of Santosha aimed to design a soothing and sophisticated space, and the skilled artisans at Heesen flawlessly brought this vision to life. The customers played a significant role in choosing the materials, opting for eco-friendly choices like reclaimed timber, high-quality synthetic leather, and ‘art silk’ rugs. The yacht’s design features a loose yet uniform color scheme, blending luxury with practicality.
The interior is a display of sophisticated architectural design and uniformity. The design is kept simple yet refined, with thoughtful additions and unique door treatments that give continuity. Every detail is carefully chosen, from intricately woven leather accents around the television in the sky lounge to the shimmering, curved wallpapers that catch the sunlight.
The spaces within Santosha are also decorated with carefully selected artworks. These pieces introduce a playful and daring element to the calm, elevated design. The light-colored floors and ‘art silk’ rugs complement these pieces, enhancing the yacht’s contemporary and refined look.
The yacht boasts a nearly 70 square meter living space for the owners, encompassing a study, a large beam bedroom, and a spacious bathroom. Sophisticated lighting fixtures and custom-made art pieces make it a truly unique environment.
The main bathroom is a tribute to the Garden of Eden, with intricate white-on-white motifs inspired by bas-relief art. It was created in partnership with the owners and skillfully executed by artists from DKT studio in London.
The artwork prominently displays the snake, a sacred symbol for the owners. This symbol represents more than just transformation; it embodies the concept of renewal and revival. The snake’s process of shedding its skin symbolizes renewal and rebirth. Its spiritual essence encourages us to see endings as opportunities for new starts. The snake also symbolizes the path to healing.
The space includes beautifully crafted Calacatta Sponda marble and a large vanity desk. The guest rooms are designed with functionality, incorporating the owners’ vast experience and profound insight into life at sea. They feature a light, sophisticated look with refreshing bursts of color, carefully selected art, and modern photography, fostering a calm yet lively ambiance.
SHARING IS CARING - THANK YOU!
