LA DATCHA is the name of a Damen SeaXplorer motor yacht in a 77m version.

Damen Yachting launched the new luxurious expedition yacht LA DATCHA in July 2020 at the facilities in Vlissingen in the south of The Netherlands. The delivery of the yacht is scheduled for September 2021 after the sea trials. New build and charter clients of Amels and Damen have the opportunity to visit the ship during a private showing from 17 – 19 September – by invitation only.

LA DATCHA is the second one of the SeaXplorer-series after the launch of a 62m unit.

The yacht has been customized to the owner’s requirements and will be a base for heliskiing in remote areas. A hangar hosts two helicopters. The operation area on the yacht is fully certified for helicopters up to 4,000 kg. Furthermore, LA DATCHA carries two snowmobiles, a submarine for three passengers, rescue tender/VIP tender, two expedition ribs, diving support tender, and wave runners. The yacht has an autonomy of 40 days.

“The Earth is so big and our life is so short, so we have to explore as much as we can,” commented the owner. “And the SeaXplorer project is just perfect. I fell in love with the shape, the design. Don’t forget that this is the one yacht with two helicopters, so you can really go further into the mainland. You can see the bears. You can see the animals. You can heliski. Any kind of activities, fishing and so on. With two helicopters you have absolute freedom to explore any remote territory as deep as you want.”

The yacht features an exterior design by Azure Naval Architects and interior design by Vasiliy Shprits, who is also involved in the owners’ residential projects.

Are you interested in testing this vessel? Oleg Tinkov – the owner of the yacht is also the founder of the holiday home company with the same name. The ship will join the “fleet” in 2020 with accommodation for up to twelve people in two master suites, two VIP suites, and two guest cabins with ensuites and walk-in garderobe. The weekly rate is EUR 690,000 + 30 % expenses (APA).

The yacht will start a one-year world tour from Greece, Seychelles, Madagascar, Thailand, South Kamchatka, Kuril Islands, North Kamchatka to Alaska, and the Galapagos Islands.

“I’ll be really excited to have this boat the first time in Kuril Islands and then Kamchatka in 2021,” the owner continued. “That’s a real excitement because I’ve explored Kamchatka quite well with the helicopter but it would be quite nice to explore it from the shore, more remote territories and see the far east of Russia and then continue on to Alaska. From there, we can go on and do so many things.”

Ice-Breaking Tank Test

A rare view – the traditional launch of a superyacht. Most yachts will be launched in a drydock, floating dock, cranes or with a lift at the mooring.
