55m sloop-rigged sailing yacht by Philippe Briand

The ideas for the concept came from a California-based client who wanted a long-range yacht with maximum speed potential, a lot of space inside and outside. Furthermore large tenders up to 6.50m. One is stored under the foredeck, the other one is stored in a lazarette aft that transforms into a beach club. In short: The features of a motor yacht packed in a sailing yacht with a low carbon footprint – also a state-of-the-art propulsion system helps to reach that goal.

Designer Philippe Briand comments:

“The building cost for the sailing yacht would be comparable to a motor yacht of the same size. There are a lot of stereotypes in yachting that are not actually true. A sailing yacht is not only for performance and racing. It can be just as suitable as a motoryacht when it comes to exploration, even with a touch more elegance.”
