SNOWFLAKE is a DynaRigged sailing yacht with solar sails.

The designer Emre Çıtır is a finalist of the Young Designer of the Year 2019 awards and created Project SNOWFLAKE with DynaRig and 1,850 square meters of Solar Sails to power the household functions and electric engines of the yacht. Also, the roof of the deckhouse has solar panels. Furthermore, the ship has a controllable pitch propeller, when the propeller is in reverse mode, the electric engine serves as shaft generator and produces energy when the yacht is under sail — generators backing up the hybrid propulsion. The hull has an omniphobic surface to reduce resistance to save more power under the engine.

”Snowflakes are an amazing invention of the nature. They are totally unique and inspirational. As designers, we have to set up projects which protect the nature.”Emre Çıtır comments.

The outside spaces contain a touch-and-go helipad that transforms into a cozy outdoor cinema with a retractable screen in the bow. The stern area of the main deck offers sunbeds around a big pool with a waterfall. The hull opens a terrace for the beach club to easy direct contact to the sea and entering the tenders.
