Dutch yacht builder Heesen Yachts announced the joining of hull and superstructure of Project SOPHIA (YN 21550).

Project Sophia is a testament to Heesen’s unmatched skill in creating speedy aluminum yachts that use less fuel. This expertise is also evident in her sporty outer appearance, crafted by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects, and her opulent interior by Cristiano Gatto.

Moreover, the name Sophia might also be linked to actress Sophia Loren, celebrated for her captivating beauty and remarkable talent. This reflects the yacht’s attractive design.

Project Sophia boasts a sleek, shallow draft hull designed by Heesen’s in-house naval architects. With a draft of just 2.15 meters, achieved through a propeller tunnel integrated into the hull, she is ideal for navigating the pristine waters of the Bahamas. The streamlined shape of the hull improves efficiency, making Project Sophia 12 % more fuel-efficient than conventional designs. Equipped with two MTU engines, 16V 4000 M65L (IMO Tier III), she can cruise at a top speed of 23 knots and travel across the Atlantic Ocean with a range of 3,100 nautical miles at 11 knots.

The design inside by Cristiano Gatto features a perfect mix of elegance, practicality, and visual allure. Gatto carefully chooses materials, colors, and textures to craft an environment that radiates a refined luxury, mirroring the idea that wisdom is present in every part of life, including interior design. The design is also available in two other styles, appealing to various tastes and preferences.

This yacht provides unmatched comfort and luxury and can house up to twelve guests in five beautifully furnished suites. The main suite on the forward deck offers a peaceful escape, while the four guest cabins on the lower deck provide sufficient room for family and friends.

Project Sophia is on sale and is scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2026.
