Dutch yacht builder Van der Valk is going to build the third unit of their explorer line. After a 38m and 25m unit now a 28m vessel.
The new explorer yacht was ordered by a repeat client and like many other yachts also designed by Guido de Groot Design. The naval architecture was done by Ginton Naval Architects and Diana Yacht Design. Constructed of lightweight aluminum, powered by two MTU V12 engines with 1,650 hp each, the yacht reaches a top speed of 20 knots and a cruising speed of 17 knots.

The yacht welcomes ten guests in total and offers two VIP cabins and two guest cabins on the lower deck forward. The owner’s suite is located on the main deck. The crew mess with two cabins for four persons is on the lower deck at the aft next to the beach club with sauna.

The sundeck offers an L-shaped sofa and a bar forward, a C-shaped settee for dining and space for a tender and jetski. An 800 kg crane lowers the toys to the water.
Yori Bijker, marketing manager at Van der Valk comments:
“We were genuinely honored to receive this new commission order from a client after he has spent just one season enjoying his current Van der Valk. Around half of all our current orders are being built for repeat clients, showcasing the very high satisfaction rates among owners. The fact that this particular client has now ordered an Explorer was not a great surprise for us as we knew he was planning to embark on some impressive trans-Atlantic and trans-Pacific voyages. We now look forward to building him the perfect platform for these adventures.”
Delivery is scheduled for spring 2020.
