Royal Huisman will turn the hull of the world's largest sloop-rigged sailing yacht.

During the shipyard’s centennial year, Royal Huisman marks a significant achievement by completing the hull of its biggest super-sized sailing yacht project, the “85m New World Sloop.” This 85m / 280ft masterpiece will stand as the largest yacht in the world, featuring a single mast and demonstrating the highest level of design and engineering excellence.

The enigmatic Project 410 is a joint effort between the owner and his team, Frers Design for the project’s overall vision, exterior and naval architecture, and Wetzels Brown for the yacht’s interior design. The engineering of this renowned project is carried out by Royal Huisman’s dedicated team, which includes skilled co-makers. The yacht was first introduced at a private event during the St. Barths Bucket Regatta 2022 and has since been kept out of the public eye, with only a handful of images made available. The construction of the aluminum hull necessitated the expansion of Hall 2 at the shipyard in Vollenhove, The Netherlands.

The launch of Project 410 is a significant event to remember. Royal Huisman CEO Jan Timmerman notes: “Four of the top ten largest sailing yachts in the world are either in production or have been built by Royal Huisman: Athena, Sea Eagle, Project 410 ’85m New World Sloop,’ and a second mega-sized yacht currently in the works in Vollenhove are set to make it into the top ten once they’re completed.”

Every mega-sized yacht showcases the benefits of sailing yachts compared to motor yachts. These benefits include the excitement of raising sails, navigating through waves, and the sophisticated technologies that improve comfort. Mega-sized Royal Huisman sailing yachts can also have a minimal environmental impact, rely on wind power, and operate without fuel. This feature provides enough energy for all systems and charges batteries for quiet anchoring. The team developed these innovations before constructing the world’s first hybrid mega yacht nearly two decades ago.

This sets these Royal Huisman mega-sized sailing yachts apart, a testament to the shipyard’s dedication to innovation. They are set to be the pinnacle of personal freedom.
