Boris Hermann Racing launched the new racing yacht called Malizia - Seaexplorer

Malizia is the offshore sailing team that is skippered by Boris Herrmann and founded by Pierre Casiraghi (Vice President Yacht Club de Monaco) with the slogan A Race We Must Win – Climate Action Now!

The boat is designed by VPLP and was built by the Multiplast shipyard in Vannes, France.

Onboard is the Ocean Pack – a small laboratory to collect oceanography data like CO2 content of the surface water to get data from remote areas to help marine scientists.

Into the future with state-of-the-art materials

Malizia – Seaexplorer features 49 natural fiber composite (NFC) parts, engineered and made by Greenboats from Bremen, Germany. The boatyard created the Flax 27 – an innovative daysailer made of flax.

Because of a rule change in the IMOCA class, it is possible to use 100 kg of bio-based materials without having any disadvantages.

Greenboats produced 26 watertight hatches, including the escape hatch, door to the companion ladder, mounts for the antennas, navigation lights, and navigation instruments. Moreover, bottom boards and engine cover.
