GX Superyachts was created by the team of Greenline Yachts, which has been at the forefront of producing high-performance hybrid yachts ranging from 58 to over 60 feet for over a decade. They have expanded their reach into the superyacht market by leveraging their expertise in advanced hybrid technology, innovative hull designs, and solar energy integration.
Their offerings include a series of yachts ranging from 24 to 56 meters, designed with a blend of elegance and unparalleled comfort, catering to the luxurious lifestyle of yachting. However, this new venture is deeply rooted in the philosophy of Greenline Yachts, which champions sustainable yachting practices. The brand aims to lead the way in environmental stewardship, highlighting Greenline’s proprietary serial hybrid propulsion system and robust solar panels integrated into the yacht’s framework.
“Our journey started with Greenline Yachts, where we pioneered the world’s first serial production hybrid yacht over 10 meters back in 2008,” said yard owner Vladimir Zinchenko. “With more than 1,000 yachts delivered globally, Greenline has been at the forefront of innovation in the boating industry. Throughout that time, we have tried to further our vision of responsible yachting – from sourcing raw materials right through to the operation of the yacht itself.”

Expanding Greenline’s achievements in both business and sustainability into the high-end yachting industry originated at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2018. Greenline’s electric 9.99m yacht immediately attracted the attention of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco, who asked for a security detail to accompany him to the Monaco Yacht Club aboard the boat. This concept, ignited that day, has become a reality with the debut of GX Superyachts.
When pitted against a traditional yacht, the GX series boasts emissions that are less than 40 percent of what a conventional yacht would produce – an incredible feat considering the size of the operation. These significantly reduced emissions are crucial but don’t tell the entire tale. Like Greenline Yachts, GX Superyachts have a comprehensive solar panel setup and a sizable lithium battery bank. This combination allows the yacht to remain docked quietly for up to 48 hours or more. During this period, all the amenities of a full-service hotel, including air conditioning, operate solely on the stored energy from the batteries, eliminating the need for a generator. This leads to a quiet, vibration-free, and odor-free environment without the sound, vibration, or smell associated with traditional combustion.

The idea behind GX Superyachts has been validated through the success of Greenline Yachts, a brand that has gained popularity among owners in the US. Naturally, it was only a matter of time before the first GX Superyacht was introduced through the Greenline network. Construction on the inaugural GX42 is in its early stages, with the keel laying ceremony on June 1, 2024. Over half of the hull has already been completed through welding. The yacht is expected to be delivered in the summer of 2026.
Choosing the location for the construction of GX Superyachts was a significant decision for the team. Greenline specializes in building with composite materials and has facilities in Slovenia capable of handling yachts up to 24 meters in length. Therefore, careful consideration was given to selecting a partner to construct larger aluminum yachts. After reviewing over 20 potential partners, GX ultimately chose SES Yachts of Tuzla, Turkey, as a custom specialist.
GX Superyachts brings together a stellar team of designers. Marco Casali is in charge of the sleek exterior design of the new models, which feature an efficient low-profile structure and generous interior spaces. The range offers two distinct versions of each model. The Coupé model boasts a long, curved roof that can reveal a spacious hidden sun deck equipped with a jacuzzi and bar. The RPH model includes a large flybridge with a modern design and a volume of 353 gross tons. Both models have a large beach club with retractable wings and a hydraulic platform.
Casali has also designed the interior to meet the high standards set by the exterior design, creating a unified and cohesive look. Transitioning from the aft decks to the main salon or flybridge is a seamless experience. His approach to styling the first GX42 incorporates the best of specialized brands, such as Antonio Lupi porcelainware and Dornbracht faucets for the bathrooms, Poltrona Frau and Rugiano for the furniture, Foglizzo leathers, and natural wood flooring by Cadorin for the living spaces.
From a technical perspective, Francesco Rogantin from NAMES studio has created an underwater body design that enhances both steadiness and the ability to reach high speeds. This crucial factor contributes to the impressive versatility of a GX Superyacht, even when it’s operating at its moderate cruising pace. Advanced software and intelligent planning have refined the long, narrow body to provide several areas of efficiency across both top speed and cruising speeds.
