90m Concept "Moonstone" by Oceanco

Moonstone is an innovative 90m motor yacht concept designed by Van Geest for Dutch superyacht builder Oceanco.

Moonstone features a cutting-edge lighting system by TEMELOY Advanced Lighting Design. The concept has an owner’s deck with spa and gym area, a cinema and a touch-and-go helicopter pad. Furthermore, there are 4 double guest suites and 2 twin suites.

The steel-hulled yacht with aluminum superstructure will be powered by 2 x 4,828hp / 3,600kW MTU 20V4000 M73L. The naval architecture was done in-house at the Oceanco yard and BMT Nigel Gee.

Dutch design studio Van Geest Design presents the Open 120 - The name says it all: 120m and much space under the sky.

Open 120 has forward open spaces with glass railing, designed like balconies without fixed furniture. So they can be arranged to owner’s and guest’s requirements.

Open 120 has two helipads. The primary one is aft on the upper deck, the other one is on the foredeck in front of the wheelhouse.

When the weather is bad, the owner can enjoy his private 720 m² area with connection to the upper deck. The suite has a straight 360 degrees salon and outside lounge.

The main salon is behind the wheelhouse. Guest cabins and lounge areas are on the main deck. The lower deck houses a spa and wellness area and the crew area with access to all decks to service the guests.

Van Geest presents 40m Ocean Nomad

Amsterdam-based yacht design studio van Geest unveiled their latest project: Ocean Nomad an ice-class yacht.

Ocean Nomad was designed for an experienced client who wants to travel around the world. The yacht features a touch-and-go helipad on the aft deck, a sky deck with seating area, jacuzzi, sun bathing area, BBQ, and dining. Also a large storage for bicycles and other sports equipment.

The full beam master suite is located on the main deck. She has large windows to the sea side to enjoy the outdoor’s world inside. Also, the dining area and lounge have full height windows and sliding doors to make this area more a part of the outside.

At the aft deck is the tender bay for a big 10m tender. But an overhead crane is also available to handle the water sports equipment.

The instruction for Van Geest Design was to create a completely new and different than their current tenders. Van Geest designed it with their design principles: unique, innovative, pure, uncluttered, interactive & timeless.

The 10DER has been developed with a combination of a proven deep-V hull and a stunning modern exterior design. The design leads to a modern and stylish arrangement with its lines and surfaces, giving a distinctive and sleek appearance which is both easy to the eye and yet comfortable at sea.

Van Geest and Rob Doyle Design developed a futuristic 50m sloop design for an experienced client.

The client’s brief of the 50m sloop was set for a racing yacht but also a comfortable cruising yacht. The client wants a completely new and different design of his yachts and other existing sailing yachts in the 50-meter class.

The portholes are integrated into the hull stripe. This stripe follows the necessary heights of the interior cabins and widens where the portholes are located. The portholes are not noticeable from the outside and disappear in the design. Accentuating this feature with light gives a unique appearance of the yacht at night.

High-grade glass will be used to form the glass panels of the superstructure. New glass technologies can be easily integrated. Shading, controlling the amount of sunlight through the glass and heat reduction are common technologies currently used by the glass industry. Even the use of on-off see-through glass can be used for exterior and interior.

The Rob Doyle designed hull package of the fast 50m sloop combines a very powerful performance hull with good sea keeping qualities, combining speed and comfort. This is achieved with a relatively wide beamed boat carried well aft, giving a fine angle of entry but still allowing extensive internal volume for a spacious interior layout, coupled with the full-length hull chine that carries the beam far outboard to give the best form stability and with a hydrostatic spray rail to keep the wetted surface to a minimum for a given beam.

62-metre Support Vessel by van Geest Design

Marimecs and Van Geest Design and shipyard NMC  present a new 62 m Yacht Support Vessel.

This 62m support vessel offers over 300 m² storage for your ultimate tenders and toys that you can’t transport on your main yacht. The vessel looks like a modern workboat but you can select a luxury interior for your guests to offer an also on that boat a luxury yacht feeling.

It has an efficient hull with low water resistance but excellent seaworthiness and comfort. Optionally also an ice-reinforced hull to operate in Arctic areas. To keep it more eco-friendly, it is also possible to order a hybrid or diesel-electric propulsion instead of a conventional propulsion.

The space under the main deck can be used as a diving center (with a moonpool, deco tank, diving workshop), gym, spa or accommodation for additional crew or more guests. Also, the layout of the lower decks can be customized to your requirements.

Do you want more yacht feeling on your ‘workboat’? No problem, teak deck, stainless steel railings give it more yacht feeling on the outside.

Many yachts don’t have the space to host a helicopter hangar. That’s another big advantage of a yacht support vessel like this. At the stern area is a helicopter hangar to have a fast air tender always on every side.
