Flat, wide and fast - The new Baltic 130 christened 'My Song' reached a top speed of almost 30 knots.

My Song was designed by experienced speed experts Reichel Pugh from San Diego and Nauta Design from Milano. Thanks to her carbon fiber hull, the yacht is a light displacement luxury sailing yacht and reached almost 30 knots during her sea trials in Finland.

It took 18 months of development and testing with sailmaker North Sails to match perfect hull and sail design. Also, the rig is a carbon construction by Southern Spars. It comes with innovative features:

Baltic Yachts describes:

“Among a number of innovative features, Baltic 130 My Song’s Southern Spars all carbon rig can set a pin head main for cruising or a square-top offering more sail area for racing. The latter requires running backstays, but when the conventional sail is set an easy-to-manage single fixed backstay can be rigged on a removable carbon fiber crane at the masthead. It takes just three hours to effect the change-out.

Faster and safer deployment of the yacht’s large asymmetric sail is made possible by an under-deck carbon fiber storage drum controlled by the crew with a handheld remote. All sails are by North.
”

Retractable Propulsion System

My Song features also Baltic’s new Retractable Propulsion System (RPS) developed with Hundested Propellers. It reduces the drag, promises less noise, fewer vibrations and works also as a stern thruster.
