Jongert Vripack Revolution Expedition Yacht

47m Revolution by Jongert and Vripack

Dutch companies Jongert and Vripack developed the 47m Revolution concept.

Revolution is an explorer yacht for an owner who is also an experienced captain and enjoys to sail the yacht by himself and is based on the Flow concept. The yacht hosts seven cabins for guests and six cabins for the crew.

The yacht will be powered by a diesel-electric propulsion with two 360-degree rudder pods by Veth that will have a maximum power of 550 kW each. The pods aren’t existing but Veth will develop the system especially for this project that it meets the requirements by the engineers.

The forward located tender storage will host an 8-meter limo tender and a RIB.

Revolution will be built under the Large Yacht Code (LY3) regulation for commercial vessels. During a charter trip, she can carry up to 12 guests and 12 crew members. On private journeys, up 16 guests can enjoy the yacht and 14 crew members care for guests and yacht.

Marnix J. Hoekstra, Director of Vripack says:

“When you walk through the interior everything is where you expect it to be, yet she has an unconventional layout. Her smooth interior layout is balanced with a masculine layering exterior design. When you take a piece of paper in your hand, fold and cut it and place pieces on top of each other you get the effect we created. The visual disconnection between the various surfaces reveals a continuous champagne golden-lit infinite line making Revolution stand out from the crowd also at night time when you sail up with the limo from a romantic dinner on shore.”

About the interior décor, I can’t reveal anything other than that she is as much the yacht of the sportive adventurous owner as well as his lovely wife and playful kids. They came to us for a globetrotter which can safely handle the Seven Seas and provides the comfort of a family home and got nothing less.”

Furthermore, Marnix Hoekstra comments:

“With Revolution, we created a yacht that stops you from turning the page. She features the most sought-after form which follows function, embraces our holistic philosophy which leads to a masculine exterior and smooth interior with cutting-edge naval architecture. Our creative signature to finely balance apparent contradictions like raw and smooth is really translated well by the team in this yacht”.

Update: 24th of April 2017: It begins – Vripack announced the keel laying.

Jongert had a bi-colored model of REVOLUTION at the boot Düsseldorf 2018 to show two different color schemes. I think the dark version looks great but could be very warm if the yacht is in the Med or the Caribbean.

Jongert Revolution Model

Tamer II by Jongert

Tamer II refitted by Jongert

36m sailing yacht Tamer II - 1986 built Jongert 32DS model - undergone an 18-month refit. Now she shines as good as new.

When Tamer II was launched she was the largest Jongert. Now she is the biggest refit project in Jongert’s timeline. The yacht features an exterior and interior design by Peter Sijm.

The owner instructed to keep her original design. When I see the exterior design: Well done. Unfortunately currently no interior shots.

The list what the Jongert team and the subcontractors had done is very long. Here is an excerpt:

  • a new teak deck
  • a new paint job
  • a Haman system
  • new wiring and electronic systems
  • new refrigerator & freezer system
  • new navigation/communication
  • new air-conditioning
  • new entertainment systems
  • new piping for all systems
  • new standing and running rigging
  • overhauled and partly renewed masts and booms
  • a number of interior-exterior modifications

The project manager, Hidde de Bruijn comments:

“I am very proud of our team, our own staff, and our partnering subcontractors who all have shown major efforts. It was a challenging project and we have asked a lot of our team. But all those efforts were well worth it when you see the end result, it’s a superb team effort.”

Tamer II has one owner’s suite, three guest cabins and an accommodation for a crew of six.

Jongert 3200P yacht

Introducing new Jongert 3200P

The new Jongert 3200P (P = Performance Line) is under construction

The Performance Line is the further development Jongert’s Modern Line to compete in regattas but also to sail around the world with a more sporty looking exterior design. Thanks to lifting keel with a minimum draft of four meters it’s also possible to visit shallow waters. The foredeck tender storage is also a pool when the tender is in the water.

The Jongert 3200 measures 32 meters in length and presents the first unit of a range of yachts with lengths of 28, 32, 36 and the 40m flagship.

The performance calculations were done by Doug Peterson while the exterior and interior styling were made by Rhoades Young. Both are well-known yacht designers.

Interior Design

The interior of the Jongert 3200P has a “New York apartment-feel” with textured woods, leather paneling, and soft furnishings. The owner lives in a full-beam suite at the aft with direct access to the sea with a private beach deck. The deckhouse features dining, seating, navigation desk and a 180-degree view.

The designer comments:

“Rhoades Young Design are delighted to be working with the prestigious Jongert shipyard on the launch of their impressive new range of performance sailing yachts. A highlight of the design is the large amount of glass area which increases the interaction between the inside and outside of the yacht, exemplified by the full-beam Owners Suite which opens onto the large aft beach deck via large glass doors.

An assortment of exterior seating locations also enables a variety of experiences to be enjoyed whilst onboard, be it dining in the main cockpit, navigating from the helm stations or relaxing on the aft beach deck, yachts of the Jongert Performance line provides for every occasion.”

The yacht is for sale and comes with an asking price of EUR 11,500,000.

Jongert's new baby - The 18-meter "Tommy", a small superyacht

Tommy is the new 18m motor yacht by Jongert

The launch of the 18-meter motor yacht Tommy marks a new step in Jongert’s craftsmanship. Constructed following the specific wishes of her owner, Tommy is a truly innovative custom yacht, built in Holland. Instantly recognized for her striking modern lines. In length not quite the size of a super yacht, Tommy certainly has the finish and charm of one. Tommy not only has stunning looks, it also has the power to perform. She is driven by two Hamilton waterjets and powered by two MAN engines, able reach a speed of 30 knots.

The large horizontal windows in the full beam owner’s cabin are one of the yacht’s distinctively innovative features. An impressive view on the water is the result and they give the yacht a very modern appeal. To add more spectacular horizons, the saloon’s roof, side, and rear windows slide open to generate an exceptional interior-exterior atmosphere, as if it’s one large space! All immaculately furnished and decorated. Tommy’s impressively low draft of only 80 cm gives easy access to shallow bays and coral reefs.

This launch is a stunning, one-of-a-kind Jongert Motor Yacht, filled with inventive features and with the potential to construct in series. Delivery of the yacht will follow later this year when she will enjoy the year-round summer of Mauritius.
