BLUE ANGEL - 36m Hydrogen Yacht // Diana Yacht Design

The concept was developed after a meeting with a family that likes luxury lifestyle, traveling but also cares about the environment. Yacht designer and naval architect Casper Marelis created the car industry-inspired exterior design of the hydrogen yacht. The yacht has a large open aft deck with lounge areas and sunbeds. A crane moves tenders into the water. The large fixed bathing platform has access to the sea and the beach club with spa and gym. The bridge deck has a shaded seating area outside of the upper lounge.

The propulsion  system is a mix of hydrogen and a diesel-electric system. The 9.360 liters of hydrogen support a full electric mode with fuel cells of 18 hours at the cruising speed of twelve knots with hotel functions. The generators serving as range extender (up to 4.000 nautical miles with a fuel tank of 40.000 liters.

BLUE ANGEL has two 425 kW azipod drives, two 200 kW hydrogen fuel cells and two 300 kW + one 120 kW diesel generators.

The owners’ cabin is on the main deck forward, together with a double guest cabin and a single bed cabin. Amidships is the main salon with dining table and a bar. Another bar is in the upper lounge. The lower deck is the home of the crew with the mess, galley, laundry and three double cabins plus captain’s cabin. Furthermore, there is a cinema for the guests that transforms into an additional guest cabin.
