Charlotte Robb comments:

“This is an extraordinary project, an extraordinary client and team with an extraordinary vision. We are extremely excited to work with such an inspirational team in creating a truly unique home away from home and setting a new bar for yacht design.”

Technical Director Jaap Gelling of Royal Huisman comments:

“The Phi-team approached Royal Huisman because the client was looking for a yard renowned for its great dedication and ability to realize this yacht with its inherent challenges, staying within the definition of Phi. With its long-standing experience building custom sailing superyachts renowned for their technical innovation and reliability, as well as overall quality, Royal Huisman have developed highly sophisticated design engineering and space planning capabilities and is therefore able to meet any space management challenges  – after all this ability lies at the very heart of building large sailing-superyachts.

Needless to say that Phi is an exciting project for our shipyard. Royal Huisman’s mantra has always been: ’If you can dream it, we can build it’ and we are looking forward to demonstrating just how well we will do exactly that.”

Delivery to the experienced owner is in 2021.

Dynamiq GTT 165

Dynamiq GTT 165

Ladies and Gentlemen, here comes the very stylish Dynamiq GTT 165

The exterior design comes from the drawing boards from Sergei Dobroserdov who is also the founder and the CEO of Dynamiq Yachts. The yacht features the Hull Vane by hydrogen expert Van Oossanen.

The 50m yacht starts at EUR 24,400,000 and has a top speed of 20 knots but you can turn your GTT into a GTS 165 for EUR 750,000 that allows a top speed of 25 knots. Both versions have an operating range of 4,000 nautical miles at 12 knots.

Dynamiq GTT 165
Dynamiq GTT 165

Sergei Dobroserdov comments:

“Price and performance are the key factors here. There are so many 50m yachts below 500GT available, but we asked ourselves ‘What can we bring to the market that makes more sense for our clients?’ The answer in simple terms is a slender hull with a long waterline that is much more efficient and more comfortable in motion than a short, wide one. So rather than maximizing interior volume, together with the naval architects, we analyzed everything an owner wants or needs in terms of general arrangement and features. We arrived at a concept of 450GT including optional sky lounge that provides the motion comfort of a 55m yacht with a conventional flared bow. The GTT 165 is aimed at today’s active owners who spend most of their time on deck in the open air and want to experience different destinations, or cross the Atlantic quickly and enjoy endless summers in the Med and Caribbean on a more manageable and economical size of yacht at the very attractive starting price of €24,400.000.”

Dynamiq GTT 165

When the yacht is launched after 28 months, 12 guests can enjoy the yacht. In the five-cabin version, a second master suite is on the lower deck. There is also a six-cabin version for more overnight guests. At aft is a glass-covered beach club with a spa or a gym. The sundeck has a length of 20m with bar, jacuzzi, sunbathing area and a cinema lounge.

Project Cosmos Heesen Yachts

Heesen's Project COSMOS

With a length of 80.07m is Project COSMOS the largest yacht project to date by Heesen Yachts.

Sometimes I am thinking of renaming yachtemoceans into “The Heesen Yachts Blog” – a very busy shipyard.

Anyway, back to Project COSMOS: This yacht is not only the biggest to date for the yard, it will be also the biggest and fastest yacht (29 knots) built in full-aluminum. It is based on Van Oossanen‘s patented and tested Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF). The exterior design was designed by the well-known London-based design studio Winch Design.

Project Cosmos Heesen Yachts

A fully rated helipad will welcome an EC 135. When the helipad is not in use, this area can be transformed into an outdoor cinema.

Project COSMOS will accommodate twelve guests in four suites on the lower deck and in one VIP suite with a private studio on the bridge deck. Furthermore, a master suite is placed on the main deck. The crew of nineteen can be onboard.

The Dutch design studio Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design has been appointed to create the interior design.

Natural mathematics, such as the Fibonacci sequence, form the basis for the interior architecture.  Together with clear graphic lines the result is a clean architectural environment. Special, featured materials, such as backlit onyx, straw marquetry and crystal glass panels are framed within the architectural lines to emphasise the beauty of these materials.

Boreas Yacht Heesen

Heesen sold BOREAS (YN 18650)

Project BOREAS has been sold.

On November the 27th, Heesen Yachts announced that they sold a yacht with a similar exterior design to motor yacht HOME with the project name BOREAS and the yard number (YN 18650) based on the Nova Plus platform. The yacht will be delivered to an experienced sailing yacht owner in July 2019 who was impressed by the sea stability of the Fast Displacement Hull Form and influenced the pre-engineered yacht with his personal experience.

Like HOME, also BOREAS will wear the exterior signature of OMEGA Architects and swims on the FDHF by Van Oossanen through the waves. Mark Whiteley is responsible for the “contemporary, welcoming and inviting interior” design. Talking of the interior, that welcomes 12 guests in total, separated in five guest cabins on the lower deck and the master suite on the main deck. A crew of nine persons serves yacht and guests.

The full-aluminum yacht will be powered by two MTU V12 engines (12V 2000 M72). The engines power her up to nearly 20 knots but can also sail with an economical fuel consumption of circa 98 liters per hour. At 12 knots, she has a range of 3,750 nautical miles.

It is the 5th contract in 2017 with a total yacht length of 257 meters!

Zephyr Yacht Rossinavi Federico Fiorentino

Zephyr 55 by Rossinavi and Fedrico Fiorentino

Yacht design studio Federico Fiorentino, the shipyard Rossinavi and naval architect Van Oossanen present their new collaboration called Zephyr 55.

Zephyr comes with a very sporty look, a length of 55m and a top speed of 32 knots. Like the former collaboration between Federico Fiorentino and Van Oossanen on project 300-XL, also the Zephyr 55 would be equipped with the patented Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF). According to the exterior designer, the design is inspired by muscle and sports cars from the 50’s and 60’s.

There are no interior renderings but it is described as follows:

“This vision of openness is carried throughout the interior of Zephyr by Pisa-based interior design firm Pulina. Interior spaces are wide and spacious and the surfaces are transparent or reflective, emphasizing ocean views. Large windows, imposing heights and a mix of natural and artificial light contribute to bringing the outside in.”

A scale model of the yacht concept is now exhibited at the Rossinavi Stand n° 668 in the Superyacht Pavilion at the FLIBS

The exterior is a design by Omega Architects while the interior comes from the Miami-based studio RADYCA. The calculation with the Fast Displacement Hull Form was done by the Heesen in-house team and Van Oossanen.

Laurentia has a 102 m² sky lounge with a 180-degrees view and panorama windows. Her big sun deck has a space of 110 m². The owners master suite is located on the main deck. Guests can sleep in 5 cabins on the lower deck. There are a full beam VIP suite, 2 twin, and 2 double cabins.

At the stern is a beach club located, while the tenders are stored on the foredeck. She will be powered by two MTU diesel engines with a range of 4,500 nautical miles at 13 knots. With 12 knots she will reach impressive 5,400 nautical miles without a fuel stop.

Currently no interior pictures. Here the described interior by the yard:

“SIMPLICITY, WARMTH, and COMFORT through the use of select materials and a high level of craftsmanship, are the key ingredients in the creation of Alida’s refined interior. The overall design is for an owner who understands luxury, relaxation, and entertainment while yachting.

Contrast is achieved by the consistent use of neutral hues found in open-grain white oak and different tones of wengé, taupe and gray leathers, wool carpets, and light textured suedes. White Arabescato and Grecale brown marble slabs emphasize the purity of the design.”

Interior designer Ramon Alonso comments:

“The objective was to create a clean and simple, yet sophisticated, interior that evokes tranquility in a relaxed and elegant atmosphere”

XL-300 Sport Yacht Federico Fiorentino

XL-300 Sport by Federico Fiorentino and Van Oossanen

Federico Fiorentino Yacht Design presents the Fast Displacement XL-300 (47.50m).

Fast Displacement XL is the new interpretation of Van Oossanen’s Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) that is approved on many Heesen motor yachts.

Perry van Oossanen comments:

“it offers maximum length, superior comfort, and the highest performance. It gives the possibility to create the longest yachts ever within the 200,300 or 500GT boundaries.”

An increase in the length of 20 % will result in 10% more interior space and 30 – 40 % more exterior deck area to have more space for pools, lounge, and sunbathing areas.

Perry van Oossanen adds:

“So it is possible to have a 45+ meter yacht, reaching close to 30 knots, with a 6ft draft, for less than 300GT.”

The project developers expecting a maximum speed of 29 knots with two 2,600 hp MTU 16V2000 M96L diesel engines. You can enjoy speed but the yacht will also have a transatlantic range of 3,500 nautical miles at 12 knots.

XL-300 Sport Yacht Federico Fiorentino
XL-300 Sport Yacht Federico Fiorentino

Exterior designer Federico Fiorentino about his creation:

“I gave this yacht a contemporary sleek and sharp look that perfectly combines with the lightness of its generous open spaces. An aggressive attitude reflects the high-performance hull that lies below the waterline.”

Cristiano Gatto was appointed for the interior styling of the XL-300 but there are currently no renderings.

The yacht accommodates ten guests traditionally in an owner’s suite on the main deck, three double cabins and one twin cabins on the lower deck. There is also the area for a crew of six in three cabins with en-suite bathrooms.

When the yacht is at anchor, it can be arrived by a helicopter that can land on the foredeck or by a 6.25m tender that can be stored in a garage. There is also space for two Jet Skis.

Home Yacht Heesen

Home, Sweet Home

M/Y HOME is the world's first fast displacement yacht by Heesen with a hybrid propulsion. The yacht is also known as Project NOVA and YN 17859.

HOME is a full aluminum yacht under 500 GT and measures 50m in length. She has a transatlantic range of 3,750 nautical miles at a speed of 12 knots. Her twin MTU 12V with 600 kW each power her up to 16.3 knots. Her two 127 kW electric engines offer a speed of 9 knots just using generators with less noise and vibrating.

The yacht features – like many other successful Heesen yachts – the Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) by Dutch naval architects Van Oossanen. The exterior design was created by Omega Architects.

During her sea trials, HOME reached the contractual speed of 16.3 with the traditional diesel engines and 9 knots in hybrid mode. Also, the noise and vibrations levels are under the contracted goals.

Furthermore, the yacht showed her efficiency. At 12 knots she consumes 98 liters per hour of diesel. That can be reduced to 45 liters per hour in the hybrid mode with a speed of 10 knots. Announced was a range of 3,750 nautical miles at 12 knots. Heesen corrected this number up to 4,250 nm.

The owner assigned Cristiano Gatto to design the sophisticated linear interior. The full-beam owner suite (forward on the main deck) features floor-to-ceiling windows and a private study.

Guests cabins can be found on the lower deck amidships. There are two doubles, two twins, and one full-beam VIP suite. The crew area with mess and cabins is forward located. On the lower deck is also the Gym and SPA. This area is also directly connected to the main deck through an extra staircase.

Heesen has a sister ship under construction. The project is for sale and ready in 2019.
