NICOSTASIA Yacht Van der Valk

Nicostasia (26m) by Van der Valk

NICOSTASIA is the fourth unit of the raised-pilothouse yachts by Van der Valk, built for a repeat client.

The raised-pilothouse have an exterior design by Guido de Groot. NICOSTASIA features also the interior design by Guido de Groot. The 26m full-aluminum motor yacht has a top speed of 25 knots, powered by two MTU 10V 2000 M93 with a power of 1502 HP each. The cruising speed is 18 knots.

The sundeck is equipped with a second helm station, sun lounge, C-shaped seating with tables and a kitchenette with fridges, wine cabinet, and teppanyaki. Moreover, the aft area is the home for a 4.45m RIB and a jet ski.

Interior

The full-beam master suite is located on the lower deck while the crew mess, a part of the crew cabins and the galley/utility room is on the main deck forward. So, the crew has a direct access to the main helm station. Alongside the master suite, on the lower deck can be found a full-beam VIP suite, a double guest cabin and guest cabin with Pullman beds.

Guido de Groot comments:

“Normally, of course, the saloon contains the dining space while the galley is located elsewhere in the boat But this family loves to socialize with guests while cooking, so they requested this one-of-a-kind feature.

They also wanted to have as much natural light as possible in that area. The design allows as much sunlight as possible to reach this space from the oversized windows in the wheelhouse above by making the ceiling in the galley area spectacularly high. Another ingenious element is the extractor hood above the stove that doubles as a lighting fixture. Each of these components was quite complex to implement given that the passage between the sunbathing areas on the flybridge above is directly above the cooking island and the extractors. Only an expert yard like Van der Valk could have accomplished this so well.”

28m Van der Valk Explorer

28m Van der Valk Explorer

Dutch yacht builder Van der Valk is going to build the third unit of their explorer line. After a 38m and 25m unit now a 28m vessel.

The new explorer yacht was ordered by a repeat client and like many other yachts also designed by Guido de Groot Design. The naval architecture was done by Ginton Naval Architects and Diana Yacht Design. Constructed of lightweight aluminum, powered by two MTU V12 engines with 1,650 hp each, the yacht reaches a top speed of 20 knots and a cruising speed of 17 knots.

28m Van der Valk Explorer

The yacht welcomes ten guests in total and offers two VIP cabins and two guest cabins on the lower deck forward. The owner’s suite is located on the main deck. The crew mess with two cabins for four persons is on the lower deck at the aft next to the beach club with sauna.

28m Van der Valk Explorer

The sundeck offers an L-shaped sofa and a bar forward, a C-shaped settee for dining and space for a tender and jetski. An 800 kg crane lowers the toys to the water.

Yori Bijker, marketing manager at Van der Valk comments:

“We were genuinely honored to receive this new commission order from a client after he has spent just one season enjoying his current Van der Valk. Around half of all our current orders are being built for repeat clients, showcasing the very high satisfaction rates among owners. The fact that this particular client has now ordered an Explorer was not a great surprise for us as we knew he was planning to embark on some impressive trans-Atlantic and trans-Pacific voyages.  We now look forward to building him the perfect platform for these adventures.”

Delivery is scheduled for spring 2020.

BeachClub 660 Van Der Valk

BeachClub 660 by Van der Valk

After the BeachClub 600, the Dutch luxury yacht builder Van der Valk Shipyard comes up with the BeachClub 660.

Like the 600, also the BeachClub 660 is a design by Cor D. Rover (exterior and interior design) and Ginton Naval Architects. Van der Valk plans this range from 19.05m to 34m.

“Thanks to the smart design of the BeachClub range, the new 660 Flybridge will provide an exceptional amount of indoor and outdoor space of a kind normally only seen on far larger yachts,” explains Patrick Lankhuizen, sales director at Van der Valk. “The aim is to create something that is genuinely innovative and gives clients not only an unprecedented feeling of space but far more room in reality.”

The yacht has a 25 sqm foredeck with different layout options and storage for a tender. The main salon with indoor helm station comes with 21 sqm, the lower deck salon at the stern that includes the galley has a size of 27 sqm. This area has also a direct access to the 17 sqm beach deck (the large bathing platform).

On the lower deck, you can find the owner’s suite (at the bow), two guest cabins and an (optional) crew cabin. Van der Valk placed the Volvo IPS 950 engines nearly at the end of the yacht under the beach deck. With this engine configuration, the yacht reaches a maximum speed of 24 knots.

Anemeli Yacht Van der Valk

ANEMELI (28m) by Van der Valk

Van der Valk announced the official delivery the 28m motor yacht Anemeli.

ANEMELI belongs to the two-level flybridge motor yachts. I like these smooth exterior lines by Guido de Groot. In my eyes a great mix of traditional and dynamic lines like the Continental Three-series. Talking of dynamic, the naval architect Jaron Ginton gave her a maximum speed of 30,2 knots! Last but not least, there is the influence of the owner who has a boating experience of over 30 years.

Anemeli Yacht Van der Valk

The round-bilged fast displacement motor yacht features the multifunctional Opacmare Transformer platform at the stern that serves also as the tender storage.

The sun deck features a flybridge, sunbathing area, a shaded wet bar and U-shaped dining area. Additionally, there are also sun pads on the foredeck including sitting area.

Anemeli Yacht Interior

The classically styled interior (also a creation by Guido de Groot) is dominated by cherry wood and bright cushion. The full-beam owner cabin is located amidships on the lower deck. There are also the two guest cabins and the VIP cabin. One crew area with two beds and separate ladderway is located forward, another single bed crew cabin is at the lazarette. All cabins are equipped with ensuites.

At the lazarette is also the storage for SEABOBs, diving gear and the place of the freezer, washing machine and dryer. The engine room is the home two MAN V12 with 1,900 hp each. The stable cruise is supported by a Veem VG120 gyro stabilizer. ANEMELI is the first European yacht with this model.

BeachClub 600 Exterior Van der Valk

BeachClub 600 by Van der Valk Shipyard

The Dutch luxury yacht builder Van der Valk presents the new BeachClub-series and the first model: BeachClub 600.

BeachClub 600 was designed by Cor D. Rover (exterior/interior) and Ginton Naval Architects (naval architecture). Although she measures “just” 18-meters, she offers a lot of exterior and interior spaces. 17 m²  cockpit and a beach club area with a swimming platform and a sun lounge of 14 m². The foredeck with various layout options (lounge, Jacuzzi…) has 25 m². Two lounge area (wheelhouse, aft deck) and a generous use of glass make it a small superyacht – easy to handle by the owner.

Patrick Lankhuizen – Sales Director at Van der Valk comments:

“The BeachClub line is the product of many months of research & development with designer Cor D. Rover and Ginton Naval Architects. The aim was to create something that would be genuinely innovative and give clients not only an unprecedented feeling of space but far more space in reality. Most yacht concepts are focussed on either the exterior or interior volume – our goal was to optimize both.

We achieved this by dispensing with the normal engine room and placing the revolutionary Volvo Penta IPS propulsion system (of which the Van der Valk shipyard has successfully installed approx. 70 units) in the swimming platform area, where the height is still around 1.6 meters. This, by patent protected, the arrangement makes the most of an aft area of the vessel that is rarely used, freeing up a great deal of volume for interior and exterior facilities. As a result, the BeachClub line has the same amount of space that is usually found on far bigger yachts.”.

Construction will start in December 2016 for the first unit of the BeachClub-series. Two Volvo Penta IPS 950 will power her up to 24 knots.

Interior

The fore ship is the owner’s home with a long window design. Between the owner’s area and the guest cabins are two bathrooms. Behind the guest cabins is a lounge with direct access to the swimming platform and large sliding door of glass.

Patrick Lankhuizen – Sales Director at Van der Valk:

“When the first BeachClub is launched in 2017, it will represent a mini-revolution in motor yachting. As well as offering a true innovation in terms of space, the yacht will be completed to the highest standard of Dutch quality and detail that has made the Van der Valk brand so successful. The BeachClub line is a synthesis of rich experience with future-oriented thinking that takes the desires of today’s and tomorrow owners fully into account.”.

Jangada Yacht by Wim van der Valk

Jangada by Wim van der Valk

Wim van der Valk launched the new 25m all-aluminum Jangada - a very stunning yacht and my personal favorite in that size of motor yachts.

Jangada belongs to the new Continental Three series of Wim van der Valk and is the second unit. The exterior was designed by Guido de Groot who designed also the interior in cooperation with Belgian designer Nick Top appointed by the experienced owner.

Guido de Groot and Nick Top chose whitewashed English oak as a base for the interior design. They designed an open and light living space with great details like LED lights.

The owner resided in a full beam master suite with two walk-in wardrobes on the lower deck. There are also two guest cabins and a VIP suite. All cabins are equipped with ensuite bathrooms.

The crew quarter with two cabins, bathroom, crew mess and the galley is forward located on the main deck.

The aft deck is a shady spot for dining thanks to the extended flybridge, separated by wide glass sliding doors from the salon.

The flybridge has space for a 4.5m jet tender and a jet ski which can be lowered with a 600 kg crane. It features also a u-shaped dining area, wet bar with grill, sink, fridge, and ice-maker. A sunbathing area is in front of the wheelhouse.

Jangada is powered by three Volvo Penta diesel engines of the D13-900-series. Each one has 900 HP. This trio pushes her up to 23 knots. In addition to the Volvo Penta diesel engines, the yacht is equipped with the IPS pod-drive system to control her easily and safely with a joystick. Wim van der Valk offers the Continental Three range also with a conventional shaft propulsion.

Volvo Penta IPS in action

My personal experience with Wim van der Valk: I visited the half-sister ship “The next episode“. The yard upholstered the blades of the shutter with fine leather. Awesome craftsmanship in every detail! But this is only one thing to highlight. They do a great work!

Continental Trawler 36.8 Flybridge

37m Trawler by Wim van der Valk

The hull and superstructure of the new 37m trawler styled motor yacht designed by Guido de Groot  and built by Wim van der Valk

The shipyard already started with plumbing and piping to create the classic art nouveau inspired Guido de Groot interior design of the trawler styled motor yacht. The interior will be made of Entandrophragma cylindricum Sprague Mahogany combined with Mahogany Crotch and Madrona Burl inlays.

The interior layout features 4 cabins (owner plus 6 guests) and space for 6 crew members in 3 cabins.

Her hull is equipped with the all-new AntiRoll 2 axis retractable fin stabilizing system (the first yacht worldwide fitted with AntiRoll). As the owner was very open to adopting new and innovative features, he decided to implement this particular system.

The yacht is due for delivery in spring 2015.

The new 26.00 Continental III will be presented at the boot Düsseldorf 2014

Wim van der Valk will present their new Continental III 26.00 m Raised Pilothouse luxury yacht at the boot Düsseldorf 2014

The Continental III 26.00 Raised Pilothouse is one of the most exciting, elegant and progressive super yacht designs the Van der Valk shipyard has revealed until now. Guido de Groot Design is responsible for both the yacht’s exterior and interior design.

Her remarkable main deck area accommodates both the salon and dining area together with a spacious closable galley. Several fine materials, like Moore & Giles™ leathers, solid Santos Mahogany floorings, white washed vertical grain oak walls and interior objects and Ultraleather™ ceilings, go beautifully synchronized and show a clear modern and sophisticated style. A professional Fohnn Audio™ sound system transforms both the saloon and the flybridge area to an exclusive private nightclub. The master stateroom is situated on the main deck in the front part of the yacht. The en suite bathroom with Bizazza™ Mosaics and Durat™ worktops perfectly fit with the style of the master stateroom.

Both the saloon/dining area and the owner’s residence are separated by a half-raised pilothouse.

The main stairway grants access to the lower accommodation deck. The 4 guest cabins and their own individual bathrooms all enjoy contemporary fittings and stylish décors with beautifully designed details. The layout of the guest rooms is perfectly balanced by the symmetric layout.

The front part of the accommodation deck is specially designed for the accommodation of a three-man crew. The 2-cabin crew area offering fixed 3 berths and a spacious crew-mess with a kitchen and laundry area.

The enlarged flybridge deck offers an outside helm position accompanied by a wet bar on port side and opposite a large L-shaped sofa which serves as both lounge and outside dining area. The rear section of the flybridge has been reserved for the 3 PWC’s (2 wave runners and 1 jet ski).

Her advanced lightweight aluminum semi-displacement hull in combination with the revolutionary Volvo Penta IPS drive technology (triple Volvo Penta IPS-1200 D13-900, 6 cylinder engine) supplies extremely accurate steering behavior and easy maneuverability. Moreover, at any speed, noise levels remain exceptionally low thanks to the underwater exhausts and shaft alignment elimination.
