Hodgdon Yachts: Largest carbon hull infusion in the U.S.

Hodgdon Yachts today announces the successful infusion of a 100ft carbon fibre hull mould. The mould to be used for a pre-preg carbon hull is one of the largest single hull infusions ever done in the USA and one of a handful of this scale worldwide.
"The amount of planning, organization and coordination required to effect this successful work is formidable"
noted Tim Hodgdon, President of Hodgdon Yachts.
"Our talented team along with the vast experience and leadership of our project partners Tim Hacket and Brandon Linton continues to strengthen our core competence in advanced composites"
- Hodgdon went on to say.

The success of large infused composite parts such as this are increasingly giving designers worldwide the confidence to specify advanced composites over other materials given their many advantages.
"We are pleased to be one of a handful of shipyards in the world capable of executing projects like this, and to be a leader in this technology in the USA"
Hodgdon added.

Sea Owl Tenders

Tenders to "Sea Owl" by Hodgdon Yachts

Fledgling and Hatchling  - these are the names of the custom made tenders to Feadship's Sea Owl.

The tenders were built by Maine-based yacht builder Hodgdon Yachts and were designed by Andrew Winch who is also responsible for the exterior and interior design of her mother ship. The naval architecture works are done by Hodgdon Yachts in-house.

The tenders were specially engineered and constructed using infused epoxy carbon fiber construction to meet the client’s demanding weight requirements.

The limousine tender features the exceptional craftsmanship and sophisticated systems engineering that Hodgdon is so well known for. Outside, a defining characteristic of the AWD design is a compound curve teak clad transom exceptionally executed. Inside, the full wood raised panel teak joinery interior features separate lavatory and wash basin lockers with luxury leather seating for up to 8 guests. Systems highlights include NEMA 2000 systems integrated iPad in the salon, electrically retracting glass moonroof, electrically retracting glass aft bulkhead, hydraulically lifting roof, lithium ion smart battery system and more.

The open tender, a companion to the limo tender, features open seating for 12, a retracting hard top over the helm (for clearance into the mother ship tender garage) and a special AWD-designed and Hodgdon-engineered retracting bow ramp for the beach and shore-side guest boarding convenience.
