Heesen Yachts started the construction of the 50m fast displacement motor yacht ‘Project Nova’.

Update from September 30, 2015: More stuff of Nova released

Project Nova was designed by Omega Architects with interior design by Sinot and the naval architecture by Van Oossanen and Heesen’s in-house NA-Team. The designers gave her a plumb bow and Van Oossanen’s Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF). Heesen will build her in full aluminum for a light weight. She will get small engines for her size. ‘Just’ 2 x 600 KW will power her up to 16.5 knots. She has a range of 3750 nautical miles at 12 knots.

Project Nova is all about fuel efficiency.

The hull design was tested at Wolfson Unit in UK. The result is a fuel consumption of 125 liters at 12 knots and 85 liters at 10 knots.

Project Nova has 5 guest cabins (incl. full beam VIP cabin) on the lower deck and the owner’s suite on the main deck. She is designed to welcome 12 guests. On the lower deck is also an gymnasium located. The outdoor area with fixed swim platform has a wet bar.

She will be ready in spring 2017.
