One of the best compliments for a shipyard is the order of a successor for a million dollar yacht - The owner of Jangada ordered Jangada 2 - an updated a bigger version of his current yacht.

JANGADA (the previous yacht) is one of my favorite motor yachts. The raised pilothouse motor yachts by Van der Valk Shipyard have a great design with the signature of the Guido de Groot design studio and in this case also by Nick Top. Moreover, the Dutch quality of craftsmanship is amazing. The naval architecture was done in-house by Van der Valk. The V-shaped hull features Van Oossanen’s patented Hull Vane® with a fixed foil.

When I see the renderings of JANGADA 2, the journey of a floating artwork continues with nice smooth lines and a bright interior with a great size that provides a lot comfort but small enough to discover a lot of smaller destinations.

The yacht will have a maximum speed of 24 knots, powered by two MTU engines with the power of 1,950 hp each. The cruising speed will be 18 knots.

The tender garage hosts two jetskis while another tender can be stored aft on the sundeck and can be lifted and lowered by a crane with a capacity of 800 kg.

The launch of JANGADA 2 is scheduled for May 2019.

Interior

The interior design is based on whitewashed European oak and is very clean. The full-beam owners’ suite has been placed on the lower deck while a VIP is on the main deck forward. Alongside the owners’ suite on the lower deck, there is also a double guest cabin, a twin cabin, and a single cabin. Furthermore, there is the crew area for up to five persons in three cabins. The area includes a crew mess.
