Suerte Yacht Tankoa Yachts

SUERTE // Tankoa Yachts

TANKOA Yachts from Italy launched 69m M/Y "Suerte" also known as Project S693 and she looks much better in real than in her rendering.

Suerte‘s delivery to her owner was in the mid of August 2015. The yacht was built to meet Dock R.I.N.A and Lloyd’s requirements.

The yacht was designed by Francesco Paszkowski (exterior and interior) and Margherita Casprini (interior).

Naval Architect Professor Ruggiero comments:

“I launched more than 400 boats in my life. I don’t remember when I saw last such a perfect result for the first time in the water. As good a naval architect can be, once the underwater lines are delivered and tank testing reached satisfactory results, we don’t have full control of what the builder’s technical office and project management do all along the project. In this specific case, I can tell that all they did is just amazing”.

Edoardo Ratto, GM of Tankoa declared right after Suerte left the dock:

“Achieving such perfect balance at first launch happens once every 40 new launches. I am truly and sincerely emotional about it because this is our first yacht as Tankoa and despite our impressive technical office, the highest level of professionalism of our engineers and our background in yacht building there are always some unforeseen factors that can affect balance at the time of first launching. Most builders are still capable to compensate an eventual slight balance issue with all that is left to install onboard, but here, we have nothing to correct.”

Michel Karsenti of Yacht Ology commented right after the first sea trials:

“We are really thrilled with the results right off the first sea trials. According to the contractual specification, the top speed was to be 16.5 knots at half load. Like any other builder, our performances are to be obtained by calm sea with 5 knots wind. A first sea trial always require a lot of organization and it happened that on the programmed date, we had a solid 2 to 2.5 meter swell with wind blowing from 18 up to 35 knots in gusts and we still decided to go. The 7 to 8 hours sea trial was just terrific! We reached top speed in excess of 18 knots with a load close to 70 percent. Not only that, our 5,500 NM range was to be obtained at 12 knots. We will have the 5,500 Nautical Mile contractual range at 14 knots, which makes a true difference when going across the Atlantic.

Vibrations are inexistent and sound level is already in line with our specs without loose furniture nor decoration having been installed. The project simply exceeded all our wildest expectations! A happy owner will be our best reward! I am very proud of the Yacht-Ology / Tankoa association has this shipyard as a true winning technical team and I can only admire the rigor, professionalism and expertise of the management team including Euro Contenti, Edoardo Ratto, Renzo Chelazzi and Andrea Parodi. I, too, remained deeply impressed with the work of Naval Architect, Professor Ruggiero whose experience is second to none and by Albert McIlroy, the owner’s surveyor commitment to built the best boat.”

Doryan Yacht Baltic Yachts

Lady in Red: Baltic 116 "Doryan"

The 35m fast cruising blue water sailing yacht Doryan was delivered in January 2015. Now Baltic Yachts present pictures and more information of the Nauta / Judel/Vrolijk design.

Doryan photos by Jesús Renedo

Baltic Yachts delivered with Doryan a yacht that fits my personal requirements on many levels. Stylish design, equipped to explore the world with a lot of comfort and thanks to high-tech materials like composite epoxy and carbon fiber with performance. Another important point to make it a dream yacht for me: A lifting keel to reduce the draft from 5.50m to 3.50m to enjoy time in smaller ports or anchoring in shallow bays.

The cockpit is covered by a carbon-fibre bimini.

The whole living space inside has a warm furniture but is also lightweight, built in carbon fiber and epoxy laminates with teak surfaces or other luxury materials like leather.

The owners resided forward with en suite bathroom, four guest cabins are behind and in the front of the main saloon. The crew quarter with mess, cabins, galley, navigation desk and laundry are at the aft area with an own entrance between cockpit and helm station. So the crew can do a lot of work with privacy for owners and guests.

Tender storage is in a garage at the stern with an openable transom that also the bathing platform.

Helios Solar Sails Sailing Yacht

Sailing Yacht Concept 'Helios' with Solar Sails

Talented Italian yacht designers Marco Ferrari and Alberto Franchi developed a green-powered 55m Panamax ketch-rigged sailing yacht with a flybridge for the Young Designers Award 2015 that features solar sails.

Solar Sails? Is a sailing yacht not green? Modern and big sailing yachts need power for the hydraulics, electrics and hotel functions. So they need generators, turbines and power banks to run the systems.

Marco Ferrari and Alberto Franchi combined a diesel-electric system with a 2052 m² sail area with 2500 panels of flexible silicon solar cells. They produce a power of ca. 355 kWh directly to the batteries.

The Helios concept uses a spinnaker of nylon and a mizzen staysail made of dacron for easy handling.

The yacht accommodates 10 guests in four cabins and one owner’s suite with its own private beach club.  A crew of 8 cares about yacht and guests. Cabins are located on the lower deck.

Guests can enjoy a pool on the flybridge what can be transformed into a sunbathing area when the pool is not in use for instance when the yacht sails.

At the stern are a bathing platform and a big tender storage for a 5m and 7m tender, jet skis and other toys. Another opening is on the starboard side for boarding from the tender.

Another sailing yacht concept (trimaran) with regenerative energy

Nothing found.

Vica Yacht Benetti Yachts

VICA // Benetti Yachts

Benetti released more details and pictures of their 50m motor yacht 'VICA' launched earlier this year.

Vica pictures by Thierry Ameller

She is the first yacht from Benetti which uses a fiberglass hull with an aluminum superstructure. A distinctive feature of her exterior lines are the full height windows for a lot of daylight in the interior.

Her sundeck is typically equipped with a sunbathing area, a bar, dining and a jacuzzi. The forward area of the sun deck can be transformed into a touch and go helicopter pad. Another sunbathing and relaxing area is located in front of the bridge. Here is also a second jacuzzi.

Her interior was designed by Benetti in-house and the owner’s personal interior designer. Benetti used cherry- and rosewood for the interior. The LED lights can be controlled by iPad.

The layout is classical oriented. The master suite is located on the main deck with additional space on the upper deck. Four guest cabins to host a total number of 8 guests are located on the lower deck behind the crew quarter for 12 members in 6 cabins.

For comfort during cruises, Benetti uses a “special elastic link” between engines and propeller shafts. Her two Caterpillar C32 Acert (970 KW each) diesel engines power her up to 15.5 knots with an economical speed of 12 knots and a range of 4000 nautical miles. Vica will use a system by Najad for stabilization at anchor and underway.

The story of Dharma Yachts began on Instagram over one year ago with the dream to create yachts with low fuel consumption and the use of 20 % recycled materials.

The Dharma 99 represents a 9.99m eye-catching designed motor yacht for day cruises or the one or one or another superyacht garage. Dharma Yachts describes the boat as follows:

“Dharma 99 is a high-end boat, created for dynamic people of various ages and also of various stature – from medium to high. She is also a perfect boat for charter services with medium-high investment capacity.”

The Dharma 99 is powered by twin Volvo Penta 330 DP diesel engines but optional other engines in a range of 500 to 700 hp is possible. The boat can reach a top speed of 40 knots while cruising speed is 30 to 35 knots with a range of 400 nautical miles.

Airbus H160

Tenders: Airbus H160 Helicopter

Not a secret: Helicopters are a very important must-have for busy yacht owners. Some are chartered from the airport to the yacht and some helicopters are a part of the yacht with their own hangar. Airbus Helicopters presents the Airbus H160.

The new stylish helicopter that is equipped with 68 patented technologies carries up to 12 passengers with 160 knots to the destination.

President Guillaume Faury says:

“The H160 represents Airbus Helicopters’ strategy to provide the most efficient solutions for our customers, who serve, protect, save lives and safely carry passengers in the most demanding environments. We are driven by this mission because what is important to our customers is essential to us. The SuperConero, the Expedition, and the Dislopen have a similar DNA, but also very different features and peculiarities. Indeed, they are the result of a long and painstaking market analysis. We are deeply convinced that these new projects will confirm CRN’s great versatility”.

The Airbus H160 is not just stylish. The helicopter has also technical innovations like the biggest Fenestron shrouded tail rotor, Biplane Stabilizer to improve the aerodynamic during hover flight and less air speed. Another plus point is the Blue Edge rotor technology that gives a higher payload of 100 KG and makes the helicopter more silent.

Atlante Yacht CRN Yachts

ATLANTE // CRN Yachts

'Atlante' was designed by the Italian design studio Nuvolari Lenard. The naval architecture was done by the CRN in-house engineering team.

Atlante’s strong and sharp exterior design was inspired by military vessels. She has 5 decks and a beam of 10.20m. She reaches a top speed of 15 knots and a cruising speed of 14 knots with her twin 1230 KW Caterpillar diesel engines.

Atlante Yacht CRN Yachts

CRN’s Chairman and CEO Lamberto Tacoli says:

“Launching a new yacht is always a moment of great pride for the entire Shipyard as emotions go hand in hand with the satisfaction of knowing that each and every one of our products is going to represent our brand and Made-in-Italy yachting across the world’s seas. The ‘ATLANTE’ is an extraordinary jewel – a very innovative one – we can truly be proud of. We are deeply grateful to the Owner Company for choosing us to build such an extraordinary yacht; to the design firm Nuvolari Lenard, that through the ‘ATLANTE’ have once more confirmed their incredible creativity; and to all CRN’s workers and subcontractors who were involved in this project from its very beginning to its final completion”.

Dan Lenard commented:

“We conceived and created this new yacht together with CRN following the requirements of the Owner Company. The outer lines have been developed having in mind a specific final look – aggressive, but at the same time very proportionate. Seen in her entirety, this is a high-impact yacht, whose determined military look becomes soft on the sea. This is why we found some original solutions, such as a non-traditional bow and areas entirely devoted to guests, like the side doors of the main deck that, once the tenders have been launched, can be exploited to the fullest”.

Dislopen Yacht

DISLOPEN // CRN Yachts // Zuccon International Project

CRN - the superyacht division of the Ferretti Group developed three new 50m showcase projects with Zuccon International. Let's start with 'Dislopen' Special Edition - a modernly styled yacht. The other two will follow.

All three projects are designed by Zuccon International and engineered in-house by the CRN crew. Dislopen was designed for direct contact to the sea with a lot of outdoor space. Sunbathing area, lounge and dining area at the aft and an area for more privacy while docked with the stern in the harbor. When the yacht is at anchor, guests can enjoy at the beach club or at the balcony.

This semi-custom concept is available with different bow and bridge designs.

I-Nova Yacht

I-NOVA // Cosmo Explorer

The Greek shipyard Cosmo Explorer built the 50m I-Nova in 2013 to a Cristiano Gatto design who is responsible for the exterior and interior design.

The yard and designer developed I-Nova as a D0 ice class explorer yacht with extra-thick steel plates and propeller shafts, propellers, sea chests, rudders and steering gear systems, as well as the sea water cooling system to meet the ABS classification requirements.

Cristiano Gatto and his team designed I-Nova for an experienced yacht owner who had own ideas for his perfect yacht. The yacht has five decks with a functional layout, which offers a lot of private space for the owner with a large cabin on the main deck. A private staircase leads to the upper deck with a big private panorama saloon.

Above the Upper Deck is I-Nova‘s Bridge Deck located which housing a well-equipped wheelhouse and two cabins, one for the yacht’s Captain and the other for the Engineer. The panoramic position of the helm station allows perfect visibility further enhanced by the reversed windows, which eliminate all glares from the dashboard.

A large terrace astern with twin tables and sunbeds is the right spot to have breakfast or to dine under the stars. The loose outdoor furniture on this deck, sunbeds, and armchairs belong to Roda’s Mistral and Network collection in natural teak.

Behind the owners’ upper deck is the big storage deck for tenders, which is equipped with a Fabio Buzzi 34 Semi-enclosed rib tender and a Scorpion 8.5 ST rib tender, which can be lowered with the installed 5-ton crane with 9-meter outreach. The storage deck is also suitable as a party deck.

The guests can find a gym, jacuzzi, and sunbathing area on the observation deck.
